Though I'm not sure why they can't use the PS3 network to do that...

I think it's because the way Sony's network is setup, Take 2 has to provide a different means of distribution. Microsoft and Sony have different structures, and it is probably a bit easier and less costly to do downloadable content w/Microsoft.

Edit: Not to say Sony won't get it, it just might take longer and cost Take 2 some extra coin. 

this is questionable since Take Two announced that the PS3 will have it's own downloadable content months ago.

They will probably have PS3 downloadable stuff but it will come later...

Is Bioshock being delayed? It's 4th quarter now.

Both consoles will have their own, unique episodic content. Be interesting if the main game is really "short" (but fun), and you need the episodic content...
