or not. It doesn't reflect badly on you if you didn't. I'm assuming nearly everyone here has a console of some sort, but how many people still have their receipt for the console/consoles that they've bought?

The Wii was the first console I've bought for myself. Every other console has been from my aunt as Xmas presents or gotten from a trade(my PS2 slim was a trade for my regular PS2, they wanted the hard drive). I got it from circuit city at 10:23:32, on January 21st of '07, and I got a wiimote and a nunchuck with my purchase. The total came to 309.97 and tax brought it up to 331.67.

Aside from this being my first console, this was also the first time I've stood outside a store for any product. i got there early and waited until the line started to form, so it wasn't too long, but it was still january, and reasonably cold. I still managed to tough it out and we were handed out vouchers to let us purchase the system at pretty much any time that day.

This would have been perfect, except I locked my keys in my car. fortunately, my parents were nearby having breakfast at the time and i managed to flag them down to unlock my car since they had a spare key. I bought my console and went home to hook everything up, get connected online, download the internet channel, make a mii, play some wii sports and then a little Legend of Zelda, which took up pretty much teh next entire week for me.

I always keep receipts for major purchases. I've got a whole drawer stuffed full of old receipts.

what? dang, I was sure this would be a cute topic for people to toss around various stories. I guess keeping the receipts isn't that big of a deal for anyone. I've considered tossing mine out, but now that I've had it around for so long, and my Wii is just so totally awesome, I think I'll just keep it.

Since I won mine in a contest, I have no receipt for it. I just signed a document affirming that it had been given to me as a prize and walked off to wait for the bus, guarding it suspiciously all the way home.

receipt? yup, keep it till the warranty expires then i just throw it away.

I try to keep my game receipts but they just end up disappearing anyway.

I still have my Wii receipt however, just saw it the other day. Stuff it with Wii Sports just in case the console was faulty (I don't sell my consoles).

I still have my receipt for my PS3, and I will keep my Xbox one
