Mario Kart pwns them both.

GT5. Forza doesn't stand a chance. Even if it has more car selection and more tracks there's no way it can surpass it graphically. It also has no chance outselling it either judging from past GT sales.

There is no contest.

GT5 will have better sales and a slight graphical advantage.

Forza 3 will easily be the better simulator.

Here's the list of rumored features of each:

Forza 3 = 400+ cars, 100+ tracks, 2 discs, damage, highly customizable, 2 discs, robust online, you'll get a "base version" and then be able to download something like 30 cars and 5 tracks for like 30 bucks until you get the final Forza 3 version sometime in 2010. It's not clear if it'll be cars on top of the 400+ and 100+ tracks or if the final 2010 version will have 400+ cars and 100+ tracks.

GT5 = 900+ cars, all manufacturers, unknown number of tracks, at least 50+ based on GT4, at least pseudo 1080p based off GT5P, robust online, some customization, damage

I think GT5 will be the better simulator, due to their past and how good prologue was.

Forza is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to racing games.

GT>Mario Kart>Project Gotham>GRID>DiRT>Midnight Club>Need for Speed>Action Girlz Racing>Forza.

Forza 3 won't even sell as much as GT5 prologue.

seriously prologue was great with graphics and it was basically a preview of gt5 it's almost at 3 mil World wide sells and it's been out apr 15
