At first it sounds bad ,but it isnt.

It was know from the word go that Versus would come later.

If we have the two teams working in the two games we can have both of them by ....end 2009 maybe?And Square will compete with themselves releasing both at more or less the same time.

With this move ,Final Fantasy XIII may get a end 2008 or early 2009 release date in Japan,and then we can wait for Versus having at least one top AAAA RPG in the hands.

As long as FF 13 is anywhere near as good as 4, 6 or 7 were then I don't mind waiting 2000 years for versus.

FF13 won't be released till Q2 of 2009. Aka the first quarter of the next financial year.

They don't want to release both big guns one year only to have the next financial years profits fall off harshly.

Probably FF13 2009, FF13V 2010 following the same logic... unless they expect FF13V to sell less then half what FF13 does.

An ea employee over at GAF is pretty much guaranteeing that FFXIII is coming out Dec '08 in Japan and Q1/Q2 '09 Rest of the world.

Yeah I know, ea employee, not SE employee, but he's an insider and should know a couple of tidbits here and there. I do hope he's right.
