Since I just got a warning for stating that xbox fans are under-represented in this thread.

I shall restrain from seeking other (xbox fans) opinion here and warn others from doing the same.

I'm disappointed in Nintendo's ability to ship units to America, to "counter" MGS4.

There are a few possibilities though, the first of which is that they are stockpiling for Brawl's Europe/Others release, which is in a few weeks. Though since America has bounced from 150k to 250k weekly, I would think that they wouldn't worry about more than 200k extra units for the first and week after Brawl's release (meaning 250k available first week, then 250k available the week after). So I'm a bit surprised sales have been this low for this long, just because of that.

The other possibility that I can think of is that some manufacturing plant is either down or not producing as high as usual, because of them increasing production to 2.4 million.

Of course, they may just be starting a major stockpile for the holiday season, and thus 150k in America, 150k in Europe, and 40k in Japan should be the expected normal for the rest of the year, except for big releases, and of course once the holiday season comes around.

Overall, not a bad week, except for the PSP and 360, which kinda get lost in the monster sales of the other platforms. Can't wait to see software, though it'll mostly be boring stuff except for MGS4 numbers and how much WiiFit has sold this week (see how supply is going).

No, your predictions aren't absurd, and they actually turned out to be fairly accurate. You're pretty much the opposite of John Lucas. That said, any more damage control about this issue is going to result in me handing out warnings. No more, "Oh, well if Nintendo had sent shipments" stuff. If Nintendo didn't send shipments to compete with their competitor's biggest game, then that is their fault and a very foolish move on their part, no matter what the reason.

I gotta say I love how some folks onn this board will say that price has no factor in the Wii Dominating, Yet when the PS3 beats the Wii, It is because the PS3 Had a bundle and a gift card making it cheaper. So which is it? is Price a factr or not a factor? You can't have it both ways. Either way it looks like the Wii got beat by a console that is roughly twice it's price this week, and that is a major accomplishment for Sony. They deserve a real pat on the back this week.

Nintendo may have been over confident that if GTAIV couldn't move systems in NA then neither could MGS4. I certainly didn't expect this from NA... I expect majority of gamers who wanted MGS4 to already have the console.

Who would want to be JL? He said that MGS4 would never see the light of day on the PS3 but MGS4 has seen the light of day on the PS3 and just look at what it accomplished.
