Forums - Sony Discussion - Which game is best to tide me over?

I am having asthma problems and am taking medicine starting today to recover, but its going to take about a week to work and I won't be able to do much in that time, so I'm buying an SRPG for PSP to tide me over. Which should I get, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, Jeanne D'arc, or Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness? I want FFT the most, but Jeanne is cheapest and supposed to be quite good, and Disgaea I have heard takes a very very long time to beat. Which should I get? Thanks for helping me out

Jeanne D'arc

They are all a really good choice. If you haven't played any of them, and you just want a straight tactics game, go with FF: Tactics. Jeanne D'Arc is a great straight tactics game too, which adds some changes brought about by games like Disgaea and some of its own. Disgaea is arguably the most complex tactics game ever made, but it is RIDICULOUSLY fun. For instance, your level cap is 9999 and you can "transmigrate" and store levels you have already gained to get better stats multipliers. You can store up to 99999 levels. DAMN!

You really can't go wrong with any of them, and I say that having played them all.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I played the original Disgaea as well as Tactics and D'arc. I can honestly say they are all great games. Anyone should do fine. That being said I recommend Jeanne D'arc.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Thanks guys. Sounds like I can't go wrong :D

From a person who owns/played both FFT and Jeanne D'Arc, I would recommend Jeanne D'Arc. Both games are great though. Haven't tried Disgaea yet.

I can#t say about the games.....I heard FFT is brilliant though.

Get better soon :)

Thanks. I am sure I will, its just going to take a while >.>

Most people seem to be recomending Jeanne, probably becuase it is original? I really want to play Tactics though; its the primary reason I got a PSP after all...

I haven't played Jeanne, but between Tactics and Disgaea, Tactics wins hands down. And if it's already the reason you got a PSP...In either case, hope you get better soon!

Disgaea! One of the most f'ed-up-but-hilarious game series out there!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
