I want no less than 8,000 frames per second. Whether I notice them or not is not the issue. Just knowing that they're there will help me sleep better at night. This generation has been a serious dissapointment to me.
I'm sorry Yushire but you really are lost on this subject. So are many of you. Mixing refresh rates with frame rates and resolutions.
Your TV's refresh rate and the games frame rate are independent. Don't mix the two together.
I'll go into some detail later. For now, I'd suggest most of you go do some research on those 3 things I mentioned.
The rEVOLution is not being televised
60fps would be ideal, but for all the effects they're generation with they're engine, it may take a lot of retooling and optimizing to get it to run higher than 30fps. Maybe the Conduit 2 will run with all effects on at 60fps in the 3rd generation of Wii games. But for their first effort, 30fps is more than acceptable.
To all those saying 30fps is a slow sluggish mess: Play Goldeneye. Preferably in multiplayer. You'll see just how nice 30fps really is.
I'm not a hardcore gamer. I'm not a casual gamer. I'm a gamer.
Now, a Sonic, game, that HAS to have 60... anything else... stable 30 will more than do.
These two pages should clear up any confusion about what frames per second is and what it, generally, means (so that the topic doesn't become any more muddy than this thread has already made it:

30fps is fine by me. 60 or 30 doesn't matter, but significant fps drops are quite annoying during gameplay. I'm hoping it's very stable at 30fps.
I'm really looking forward to this one actually..
As long as the game is LOCKED at 30 fps, gameplay is smooth and there is no real need for 60 fps.
I agree that 60 fps is a lot "flashier", but as long as the controls are good and the framerate doesn't drop below 30 there is no problem here at all.
