This is the video the reason why I want a game to be 60 fps, and to prove Im not trolling on this thread when I reacted that The Conduit isnt 60 fps, and yeah, our eyes can capable of seeing 60 fps beyond that its overkill:

What this video doesn't show is a developer can have more stuff (more action = more gameplay) going on at 30 fps than they can with 60 fps. Thus more bullets flying, more enemies , better physics , and explosions , all which take time to for the CPU and GPU to produce. Also while the eye can see the difference our brain are effective enough to help us see 24 fps smooter than it really is. Remember we see what the brain sees not necessary what the eyes sees.

P.S I've notice you mention Counter Strike which happens to be a multiplayer. Unless you are playing on LANS the other players aren't running at 60 fps, thus you often see jerky movements.

I was hoping 60fps, but if 30fps brings better graphics, better gameplay, and less slowdowns, so be it.

Doesn't really matter to me, if 30fps vs 60fps is the differences for buying a game or not, then you have massive problems.

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

30 fps without drop is a nice achievement.

If its a good game than 30 fps over 60 fps wont be a problem

lol, yushire, sorry, but that first video was pathetic. Lovely article, but you're talking about the difference between subconsciously recognizing the different between 2 framerates.
You still have yet to show that having one particular framerate actually changes the playability of a game, provided it remains consistent.
i watched the video, and I could tell a slight difference, but saying that it's detrimental to gameplay is absurd.

How about you try this. Take people and find different games and run them at completely different FPS, don't tell anyone what the actual FPS is and make them try to guess it. Don't let them know if their answers are right or wrong. Then see how they do.

On top of that, have games that run at a consistent 30FPS (not just 24) and have those compared to a game that runs between 50FPS and 75FPS or even 60FPS to 120FPS, and see if people can tell which one runs smoother.

If its in the PC in other people's standpoint, I cant tell but in my opinion I can tell which game is running 60 fps and which is running in 30 fps. But in TV, I cant really tell, monitor was different than in TV. Though I can tell the slowdowns anyway. Anyway the FPS that I really play came from the PC, no interests in FPS in consoles even now. I want to buy Red Steel but the reviews makes me away from it. Come to think of it, I think I dont want to be bother anymore after The Conduit officially announced as 30 fps I lost interest anymore. Im not into single player campaign anyway, Im more into fast multiplayer gameplay like Counter Strike, Doom and Quake so I dont wanna post here anymore I made up my mind.

P.S. Im into fast gameplay FPS so my preferences was different from others here, shouldnt expect for a console in my FPS needs.

huh? wtf I see people slapping 30fps and 60fps to any resolution, wow... here

what that guy is saying is that Conduit will run at 480i, so Wii owners with component cables won't get a difference for 480p.

There's a reason why 720p is visually better than 1080i and that's mainly because of the fps difference, also that's the reason why 1080p iscalled true high def, but it's still wrong because 1080i is a higher resolution (image) over 720p.

This guys just saying it will be Standard Definition and run at 30fps or in short 480i.

Gosh, kinda like every other Wii game.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

"Let's fight ignorance!" - Me XD

Oh, the irony.

Frames per second has nothing to do with resolution. The only thing that interlaced v. progressive scan determines is how many scanlines are shown at any one moment: half (for interlaced), or all (for progressive). Therefore, the developer is saying nothing about what resolution the game will run in, and I think it's safe to assume that it'll be in 480p widescreen.

On top of that, most Wii games run in 480p widescreen.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

As has been said, most of the games we play on consoles are in 30fps, and I doubt many console gamers can see a difference. I can, but I'm also a long time PC gamer, and I see varying framerates all the time. You watch movies in 24fps... do those look blocky to you?

Booo, I was hoping for 60 frames, but as long as it doesn't dips below 30 (cough MoH cough) It will be ok.

If KZ2 which is being hyped up as the best looking game coming out is locked at 30 fps Wii (pun intended) shouldn't complain about Conduit at 30.
