Thursdays are good for me. What would be a good time? Not too late I hope.

There are some over at GS that are asking about next Sunday. Should I be telling them that we are taking a break from the matches?

I thought the sentiment seemed to be that we NOT take a break. Take a beating until we get good enough to beat back :)

I doubt that would work all that well. Its fine when your loseing, and slowly getting better, but last time we got slaughtered, theres little room for improvement in those conditions.

Hopefully the matches will be at around the same time as always.

Riddle me this.  Would it be better to get your skills from a player without a lot of experience, or to learn your skills from a player with a lot of experience.  Would you rather learn trix fr kids or moves that can get you out of the most stickiest situations.  Would you rather want fellow players in MoH to know you as a noob when they see you?  Or would you want people following you and make them proud to have the priviledge of being near an 'elite' just by being in the same game as you.

Practice comes with a price, but the rewards you get from practice are priceless.

When you respawn and die 10 sec later by a ravid group of 5 'elite' players, i hardly see room for improvement there. Itll only lead to frustration. I see it hard to learn anything from another player online, if i learn any techniques itll be from my own doing.

Theres lttle you can do when your behind -20 points, and like i said, you cant get better if you dont even have the chance.

I think Resurrected is right, yes.. when you don't have time you can't improve but when you respawn and die by a group of 5 "elite" players is bad luck i mean, did you die everytime like that? Maybe is the fact that i know i suck :P but when the match started i knew i would die a lot so i said if i'm gonna die at least i will die putting my best :P. I think that the problem here was the mentality, i knew that i was gonna die (because most of the times i do it :P) so i didn't get that frustated but you didn't so when we got destroyed by them you got way more frustated than me (because you are use to win :P). If there's some kind of confusion with this i'm sorry i didn't know how to write it :P

I understand what you are saying Falcon.

When I first starting playing in this group, I felt much the same way Voltaire (and the rest of us!) felt after Sunday's game. I died a lot. I always had a negative score and I always finished near or at the bottom. But because I was playing with people so much better than I was, it forced me to try harder if I was going to compete. If I only played with people at my level or weaker, I would not have improved as much as I have. Playing against better people pushes you out of your comfort zone and makes you try new things and take some risks. This often caused me to have even worse games, but eventually it started to pay off.

I have no idea if we should (or if we even can) continue the TDMs with GS. We would need a good turnout from our side, and hopefully a smaller turnout on the GS side. I know there are several GS players that have said they will continue to come to the matches, but the rest I do know. If we set up another match for Sunday, we may get 3 people from GS or 13. I think they will play with whatever number show up. We need at least 2-3 more people to show on our side to make a decent match of it. I have not posted anything about this coming Sunday yet. Still waiting to hear from more people in this group. If even a few do not want to do TDM, I think we should go back to DM only and keep our people happy! After all, our group is the important thing here. TDM was meant to be an extra, not a replacement for our normal games.

Wow, what a rant!

'Cuz we weren't dying quickly enough before...

Well.. i have no problem with keeping the matches against GS so whatever you want :P We should have our weekly games and depending of what all say decide if we should have the TDM against GS.

I may not be around for Sunday's match. I have to travel and there is a winter storm warning for my area, so I may be delayed in getting home. Right now I would say for you guys to plan on not having me around. If I make it back in time, I will join in whatever you have going on.

I made it back, but I twisted my wrist and will probably not be able to play. If it feels better at game time, I will give it a try. If you want to play against GS I can post it in their forum, but I have no idea how many will show up. I know there are 2-3 who have said they look forward to continuing to play. But hey, maybe 2-3 of them against all of us will make an even match?
I did post in the GS forum that I would not be able to host, and that we may have to take a break until the new year, but there have been no responses yet. Just let me know what you would like to do!
