Forums - Gaming Discussion - Game guides.

I usually print a guide from Gamefaqs or IGN. First I edit it to make it as small as possible, to save on paper. I also correct all of the spelling mistakes as they are mostly American (analogue not analog, artefact not artifact, tyre not tire - the usual stuff).

I don't read it through, but rather play through an area and then read to see if I missed soething. I may also look at the beginning of the next section, to guide me in the right direction.

Whatever makes the game more enjoyable is only a good thing. If using takes away that enjoyment, then of course you shouldn't use them.

there are always secrets you miss, and anyway, small kids need guides to beat games. I never would have beaten ocarina of time without the guide, even though I'm ashamed of admitting it.

I only use a guide if I get stuck in an area on a game for a long time.

I do like game guides, especially in jRPGs (I always get them for them)
