Forums - Microsoft - MrBubbles thoughts on the Civ:Rev demo

This would be my first time playing a civ game.

The map seemed really small.  It felt really slow...it picked up after a while, but was still pretty slow.  The tutorial was pretty bad and didnt provide much help.  I would have liked actual speaking.  Figuring out how to research stuff took me a little while .  The tutorial kept telling me to wait for my advisor to say something...which he didnt.  I didnt find it overly complicated but i would have appreciated a little more info from the game on what i should be doing.

Once i figured out the basics of what i was doing it wasnt too bad.  All considered...i enjoyed it.

Slow is the definition of civilization.

i cant remember which mag said it,but they said this is the best rts to ever be released on a console

I never played a Civ before and fell in love with this demo .. pre-oredered the game afterwards and will get it today :).

@ brute )

but it isn't a RTS, it's a TBS (Turn-Based Strategy)

I love the idea of a simplified Civilization on consoles, but i strongly believe that no one can really understand what Civ means unless he plays Civ 3 or Civ 4. Much much much more complicated and rich. Anyway, I m getting Civ Rev, first day!

the only other game I own is civ-2: test of time.

The thing is, this version went faster actually. In only 30 turns my game was over... lame. 1 turn= 100 years

this game is silmpler, but when you think about the strategy, it seems more complicated. you can use tech is so many ways, it is mindboggling.

civ 2 is almost unplayable because of the learning curve, while this is easy get into by your second game.

The civopedia is also bitchin' .

i've been itching to buy civ 4 lately (finally) but i think i'll wait for this.

I did the same exact thing. I did have Battlefield bad company pre-ordered, played both demos and swapped my pre-order to Civ:rev.

Civ is NOT an RTS...

IT DOESNT MATTER! They probably meant best strategy game!!!!!
