I think MikeB's post links to an image whose website isn't too keen on hosting it for us.

That picture is going to hunt me for a very long time.
MikeB's gonna have to check if sites care about hotlinking from now on haha. ergh...
LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
Fixed. Argh. MikeB BETTER start checking his links or its permaban.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
@ mrstickball
Huh, did they remove or change the pics or something? And is threat a joke? If not, feel free to ban me as then this site's not worth my time.
MikeB -
Your robotron picture turned into a picture of 3 really old (60's+), naked men having an orgy. I don't feel that's appropriate for the site. I won't ban you, as it seems it was unintentional, but please "think of the children".
And yes, I'm 100% honest that the that was the picture, and 100% honest that if it happens twice for one person, I'd ban them, regardless of who it is. But it obviously shows that it was unintentional (I hope!)
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
I fixed it before you posted, but whatever.
Some sites put up shock images like that when you hotlink from them.
It's best to save the images and host them on an image hosting site or on this site.

The thing about hotlinking is, when you post it, your browser doesn't show you the image it gets replaced with, because it's in your cache. Even if you close and reopen your browser, it may still be in your disk cache, so there's no way of knowing that your image has been borked until someone tells you. And it's not like most sites have a "don't hotlink our images" banner on their front page.
Yeah...it's hard to notice...
The best thing to do is just...not. It's not too much trouble for me to usually just quick use tinypic.com or something to upload a saved pic, thus insuring that the host site never goes down due to vgchartz's hundreds of views or the host site replacing the image.
It's just common courtesy. I save and upload all my SSBB update pics, because even though I seriously doubt Nintendo is going to throw a "lemon party" at me, a ton of people loading SSBB pics all over the internet will seriously slow down the site, and who needs that...it's just mean.

Yeah. Copying them without permission is only like illegal, but at least it isn't mean!
