Forums - Microsoft - Forza 2 - #1 in Germany, France and Japan, #3 W/W (MGC)

Forza2 should sell near 2 million worldwide. Now where are those old American sales charts so I can compare to other motor games?

good thing we have something called opinions because forza is not equal to GT.. im not comparing sales im comparing the game itself... being an owner of both... i disagree with your statements...

What, exactly, do you think makes Forza 2 less of a game than GT? Forza 2's simulation is freaking phenomenal. Every car handles noticeably different and all of the telemetry and physics are nothing short of amazing. The graphics are very, very good. Not a graphical OMFG by no means, but the silky smooth framerate and exceptional physics more than make up for it. Every magazine review basically says the same: Best sim to date -- period. Graphics are a little disappointing but again they are still great.

I'm not nearly the graphics whore than many people are and don't place as much emphasis on them. I do like phenomenal graphics -- no doubt. Amazing graphics always give me a warm fuzzy. They wear off really quick, though, and gameplay quickly becomes the focus. I think too many people are trying to equate graphics in GT with Graphics in Forza and declaring GT the winner solely or weighted heavily based on them.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

I'm curious as to know what Bonafide prefers in GT over Forza as well. The only thing GT had over Forza was graphics. When it comes to replicating the actual driving experience Forza wins hands down. Popular Science even tested the realism of the original Forza.

Forza 2 seems to be doing quite well in the UK.

After spending about 30 hours with Forza 2, I can safely say that no GT game even comes close and I've played them all extensively.

The graphics in Forza aren't the greatest but that framerate, physics, and overall feel of the game more than makes up for it.

GT5 may be a different manner but as it stands now, Forza is the undisputed king of racing sims.
