Well we all know how the Ps3 is doing in Japan right

So I've been doing loads of research and Hardware comparison graphs recently......then I came accross pocketstation, apparently a SONY Handheld( ??).

When I saw it sold 5 million I thought.....right lets see how the HArdware from launch comparison lines up.....shocking to say the least.

Now as we can see PS3 is trending BELOW Pocketstation by around exactly 2 Million at this point......WW 2 million aint big but in Japan its HUGE!

Now this is a weekly comparison from launch:

So PS3 was outsold HEAVILY for its first year....& now it will be  many more weeks in which PS3 will still be outsold by it..thenPOcketstation drops off.

I feel it will leave PS3 around 2.5 million behind......will PS3 be able to catch up keeping in mind YOY trends are DOWN in Japan?

In short: Yes
In long: Yes, it will.

Five million lifetime in Japan?

I see the PS3 doing 5 million conservatively.
7 million likely.
9 million very optimistically.

This is so embarrassing for Ps3......being outsold by that.....thing

Yeah and I bet in Japan that was a HUGE selling point...

It'll struggle to beat the Pocketstation before the PS4 is announced with current trends.

However, it'll eventually pass it sometime after FFXIII comes out. However, by that time I expect the Japanese market and jrpgs to be dominated entirely by the DS and the Wii.
