Why hasn't anyone said Neverwinter Nights 1/2 yet?

The isometric view is not my cup of tea though.

Well firstly Neverwinter nights story was cliched and Neverwinter nights 2 camera was horrid. But yeah above that they're really good games as they all both have many really great mods.

Even though you don't want guns or sci-fi, I'm going to have to go ahead and recommend Fallout 1 and 2.

It's a Real-time Turn-base Tactical RPG Micro-management all rolled into one.
Very steep learning curve. And I meant VERY!

if you dont care about graphics i would try dink smallwood, it might be fugly and old but its a pretty fun game

Ultima VII and Planescape: Torment.

I spent heaps of time on the following games:

Ultima XIII
Baldur's Gate 1&2
Icewind Dale 1&2 (basically anything by Black Isle is guaranteed to be awesome)
Fallout 1&2

These are the best WRPG series around.
