CapAmerica and others - this is the Sony forum, post your Nintendo lists in the Nintendo forum please. ;>

I was just posting the list to debunk the claim that ssj12 made that "This is why Sony is the largest first party dev out of the three companies."

Currently playing:
Wii: MySims | Xbox360: Halo3 / Pac-Man C.E | DS: Scurge | PSP: Ghost in the Shell

Ever heard of Quality is better than Quantity?

Prime example right here.

About 90% are worth buying. The rest are basically rentals. Only title out of that list not worth it is rub a dub.

I have never heard of at least 30% of those games. Off of your list I would probably buy 30%, and be completely uninterested with the crap that is the other 40%. And that's too bad too because I loved sony consoles and the games that appeared on them up until this Gen.

How did you used to like them and now don't, most of them are still coming to PS3 and now there are new good looking franchises joining like Lair, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Resistance and Motorstorm.

Is Lair owned by Sony, I was pretty sure it was a Factor 5 owned game.

Um, "one game" does not consitute a franchise.

What is the point of this? A Nintendo fan can easily post a list of EVERY FIRST-PARTY GAME IN 20 YEARS as you have for Sony, and it will put it to shame. That doesn't mean all of them are relevant to the Playstation 3 or the Wii at all. WTF.

Most of those were mediocre and/or horrible anyway! Blasto, are you kidding?

"The biggest FIRST PARTY" would decided by manpower/specific developers, logically.

Just wtf. And newsflash -- Sony does not own Major League Baseball as you claim, haha.

The list is flawed anyways. You have things like Flow on there which I wouldn't go as far to call first party and you have dead franchises like Ico that were great and could possibly have a sequel one day but nothing has been announced. And don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Nintendo list is the exact same way I just didn't bother reading it.

A much better way to make that list would be to list developers anyways.

Good point about the sports games. Most pro sports like NBA, NFL, NHL, FIFA, etc. will issue temporary licenses to produce games with their name on them. No software company owns the rights to those names. This is one of the reasons you don't see see old sports games on VC, because it's so hard to renegotiate the licenses.

Its published by Sony. Which means Sony owns the rights to the game. Also this is a list of all franchises they own, not that they are all going to be remade.

I fail to see the point of this, too. Jay Leno owns more cars than Mario Andretti. Anyone care to guess who's the better driver?

(give you a hint: it's not Sony)

I think the point was to beg the question why does such a thread need to exist in the first place if the majority of the titles on that list are discontinued or irrelevant to today's platforms.

I don't like Formula 1. Does that mean that Jay Leno is a better driver, for me? (Like I said, your favorite developer, using any form of logic, can't be Sony. Your opinion is wrong)
