The graphics are really excellent for a Wii Game. I really think they've done well in that department. I'm hoping the game is good, because I'm really interested now in getting it.

you're confusing pre-rendered cutscenes in RE with in game graphics for this game. |
Not just the cut-scenes, the whole game minus the characters and items was pre-rendered. Of course it's beautiful then. Don't forget that REmake was alot better looking than RE4, but RE4 was true 3D.
REmake could probably match a lot of 360/PS3 games if those where in normal resolution. Just don't expect a nice control scheme...
Hah Soriku that's classic.
I read someone said the wiimote would be used for the the torch.. So.. Spiritual successor to Luigi's Mansion anyone? Anyone?! :P

If so, could a Wii game have pre-rendered parts to spice up the graphics even more and still have sufficient true 3D to be able to interact with items and destroy things and walls and other effects?
These screens look unbelievably good. Can't wait for someone to get a hands-on.

No, prerendered backgrounds can't be 3D, because they require a fixed camera setting. You should see it like this.
In today's normal games most backgrounds are made up out of 3D models of buildings, environment etc. A prerendered background is essentially a picture.
That picture, of very high graphical quality, is loaded once you enter a certain location (in REmake a room in the mansion) and since the camera doesn't move, the console doesn't have to make any calculations based on the position in that room. That save a lot of process power.
But this technique is not really compatible with a 3D game, because once you change the camera-angle, the backgrounds should change.

Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
Man the second screen looks really creepy. This game is shaping up to be fantastic - it'd better be worth it!
