lol @ Titanic -- if you mean that ina movie sense FF13 will become the Biggest Blockbuster ever...if you mean in the actual ship sense....then despite huge quality & wonder it will bomb

either way FF13 wins in quality....lol j/k

Actually the Titanic promised high quality but didn't exactly deliver.

well,i think sony stopped these games so they can work on there other games and release em earlier

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

eh...never really cared for "The Getaway" franchise anyway. The first Getaway had clunky controls and so did The Getaway: Black Monday for the PS2.

Sucks to see that the franchise is on hold.

Eight Days I actually liked the game or trailer or tech trailer as I may say. But really wasn't that concerned for the game at all. It didn't make my "Must Have PS3 Games". So I could care less. That gives Sony more chances to make sequels to their existing franchises aka Jak, Ratchet & Clank, etc. for the PS3.

I could care less about the Getaway, but it definitely sucks that Eight Days got cancelled/put on hold. Oh well, this is what happens in the gaming industry, so we really can't complain too much. I've been happy with their first party offerings so far.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

A good move. Sony really do need to get home out the door.
They can just get back to these games later.
Why have like 10 games in production and non release for like 8 months or something when you can just have 4 and get them released quick then start another 4. it seems alot better.

that way you would get a constant flow of games instead of like lots of games 1 month then about a half a year drought

Maybe people outside the US can't appreciate the Getaway series but over here in the UK many of the people I know ( including myself ) love it.

another reason why the PS3 is 3rd in sales?

You could care less? What's that supposed to mean, you do care?

Getaway was just a GTA ripoff in the end; with GTA IV's blockbuster sales and reviews there is no reason to push another game like it on the market, it simply will not sell.

That's right. Sony doesn't need it at all, just like rumble.

Rumble is a bit bigger than a lesser versino of a video game that is out and breaking all records. Sony is making sure they are profitablle from now on. To do this they need to make sure there biggest launchs come with the proper funds to fine tune them and not be delayed. They also need something to attract causal gamers(thought I disagree with them doing so this gen) it's obviously what the suits want. We also don't know how far along these games were; if they were stagnating or not where they were suppose to be in the development cycle than that is plenty good reason to shift resources elsewhere.

The first one had OK numbers but the 2nd? The effects of GTA clearly showed its infuence on the game. 1mill for a sanbox game like the getaway is most likely not worth it in sony's eyes.

I wouldn't be so sure of that.
