Forums - Sales - $100 Wal-Mart Gift Card with the Purchase of Blu-Ray Player 6/8-6/14

http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=1358

Wal-Mart has revealed that any consumer who purchases a Blu-ray Disc player between June 8th and 14th will receive a free $100 gift card. In addition to the Sony BDP-S300 ($388), which they have been selling for some time now, they have added the Magnavox NB500MG9 ($298) as well as Blu-ray players from Samsung and Panasonic..

Beginning June 8th, the retailer will also be reducing the price of best selling Blu-ray titles such as '3:10 to Yuma', '300', and 'Shooter' to under $15. This will provide an excellent opportunity for new Blu-ray owners to build a library of quality Blu-ray titles for the same cost as a DVD.

No word on if these deals will also be applicable to their online store as well.

This essentially knocks the price of some Blu-Ray standalones to $200, so I figured a few of you might be interested.  It is also pretty nice that Wal-Mart is giving a pretty good discount on some of the older Blu-Ray movies, including some that people ACTUALLY want.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Yes its included really walmart are running almost 2 weeks of deals for the ps3 one started the 1-7 then you have this one 2. Im not sure if the 1-7 deal was just im my region though as most people havent said anything about this one. I do know that each store will be carrying a very limited amount but its part of walmarts big push for blue ray which is going along with fathers day.

bout time the retailers try to save the ps3 since sony isnt doing it themselves by releasing quality titles *looks at haze*

@Chuck

What the hell did Sony have to do with Haze? It was always going to be released on the PS3. Plus, do you mean quality titles like MGS4?

 Sony had nothing to do with the quality of Haze. Quit being a fanboy and open your eyes to facts instead of ignoring them.

Im sorry, have you seen the PS3 sales so far this year vis-a-vis the 360? And without 'releasing quality titles', as you put it.

The 360 has had nothing really good come out all year but GTA 4 and the PS3 had that too and the 360 has sold really close to the Ps3 with no games. So i think the Ps3 really needs to have this price drop if they ever relaly want to come from 6mil back of the 360 if that will ever happen

@Everstar - And what big games have come out for the PS3 (other than GTA), then.
