Forums - Sony - MGS4 gets a graphical Upgrade

Can someone point out to me something that's different in this compared to the old one? I faintly remember seeing all of this over a year ago.

It's extremely plausible that most of this was made with the game engine, although there's no way we'll be able to perform half of Raiden's moves in-game. Kind of like the "No, you do not get to play the awesome dude on the cover!" rule with RPG books. =P

The most noticeable thing is that the framerate doesn't drop in the new version like it did in the old one, also the colors look a little better and some unnecessary 'yellow' color is gone.

Don't worry, I agree that it looks better than Zelda...it should being such a cinematic game and all...

But Link still could kick Snake's ass in SSBB haha.

I guess that'll depend on the players using them ;)

Sorry your mother, I noticed that comment wanted to respond but it got lost in everything else I was thinking (again too much coffee blah!! LOL).

The entire game of MGS2 was real-time.

I've got back after playing Zelda on Wii to play MGS2 and 3 recently and I still can't believe how good the graphics in that game is compared to Zelda... I personally think it looks better than Zelda on Wii (i'll get shot for that).

The first scene of MGS2 where it is raining with the cars and their headlights and he climbs up and then jumps down on to the deck of the tanker and then his camo gear fks up is all real time.

Have you seen some parts of MGS3??? I think they look better and I couldn't believe the PS2 was doing it.

Kojima Productions are one of the best development houses in the world (especially at utilising hardware).

Color me thoroughly impressed. I last played that several years ago on a CRT but I discounted the intro movie as in-game render because it just looked so much better than the actual game itself, but I will check again tonight on the LCD. Thanks for clarifying that.

Once again - wow. Didn't like the game that much (more of a Splinter Cell man myself) but it doesn't take away the fact that it simply looked so good I was convinced it was pre-rendered. Shows what a good team of devs can do with hardware once they know it inside-out.

I'm going to make a crazy comment here that will likely cause me some form of grief, but after watching this and the original trailer many times in a row tonight I think this version doesn't look as good in some parts, and i'm going to speculate one thing...

This version of the trailer is running on Xbox 360 hardware.

That's a pretty massive speculation right there.

I thought this version looked and ran better...

i thought originally this post is just to share an exciting new trailer to the ppl here, a pure good intention, but i wonder why it turns out into a quarrel again.

i see every post of bringing good news to ps3 is attacked by ppl.

i love ps3 but i dont find this as a reason to hate 360 or wii. they are good consoles and have good games. so i dont attack their posts.

world peace.

i agree genko

The trailer is awesome. There are just some people who feel the need to rain on any parade they possibly can.

I mentioned before that Kojima only uses in-game models for his cutscenes, similar to the way Gears of War did, so I support you, OriGin.

And, funny thing about your theory ... close to the end when they are showing credits, I was actually looking for a Playstation logo, too.

I think the best part of the trailer is when it shows 2008, then crosses it out and puts 2007. Sony needs this puppy this year, and November would be the perfect time to release it.

This game does look amazing. It makes me want a PS3. Now a couple more games and I'll make the jump. Too bad it's not coming out this year.

Not everybody is attacking good news for Sony...it's a bit more complicated than that.

Wondering whether or not the trailer is prerendered is a legitimate concern...I would want to know about that for any game on any system.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
