Sorry your mother, I noticed that comment wanted to respond but it got lost in everything else I was thinking (again too much coffee blah!! LOL).

The entire game of MGS2 was real-time.

I've got back after playing Zelda on Wii to play MGS2 and 3 recently and I still can't believe how good the graphics in that game is compared to Zelda... I personally think it looks better than Zelda on Wii (i'll get shot for that).

The first scene of MGS2 where it is raining with the cars and their headlights and he climbs up and then jumps down on to the deck of the tanker and then his camo gear fks up is all real time.

Have you seen some parts of MGS3??? I think they look better and I couldn't believe the PS2 was doing it.

Kojima Productions are one of the best development houses in the world (especially at utilising hardware).

Color me thoroughly impressed. I last played that several years ago on a CRT but I discounted the intro movie as in-game render because it just looked so much better than the actual game itself, but I will check again tonight on the LCD. Thanks for clarifying that.

Once again - wow. Didn't like the game that much (more of a Splinter Cell man myself) but it doesn't take away the fact that it simply looked so good I was convinced it was pre-rendered. Shows what a good team of devs can do with hardware once they know it inside-out.
