IGN did some simulation with the help of UEFA Euro 2008 from EA, and came up with these numbers:

It will be the 8th European Chamionships where I´ll watch all games live on TV. And there´s a 1:15 chance that I´ll witness the 3rd title for my home country´s team (which would be the 4th overall). Although I have my doubts this time.

I´m also curious about the performances of the teams from Schweiz and Österreich. There were never hosts with less pressure and this could be an advantage for one of them (like South Korea, World Cup 2002).

iv decided to get my bro to make a £5 bet on Holland for me to make those matches actualy matter to me, hes makin a bet on Portugal, Il get better odds : )

A quick analysis of the major teams....

FRANCE- aging squad, henry and viera and makalele are entering the 'i need a fucking walking stick' age

HOLLAND- they have talent, but they are too busy beating each other up and whining about who is better

SPAIN- they always get hyped up, but then they do a 'jim from american pie' and blow their load to early

GERMANY- in a word, OLD

PORTUGAL- if cristiano 'the dancing diving twat' ronaldo gets injured, expect portugal to self implode

ITALY- as i am 1/8th italian, i would love them to win, but without cannavaro, can the defence based defending team who will soon be defending the world cup show that they like to....defend?

AUSTRIA- your having a laugh. go home

GREECE- the defending champions, they specialise in sitting in their own half until they get a corner, which sees every single greek player storm the opposition penalty area where they usually nab a goal, which then leads to every single greek player camping in the greek half for the rest of the match, beating back every opposition attack like the 300 spartans.

Thank you for your time

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

I'm going for Spain, colonelstubbs is right, they are always posted up as one of the world's top sides but never manage to pull it off. BUT, they have one of the youngest squads in the "top tier nations" so it's not entirely unexpected that they choke under the pressure.

They'll start to rise up soon, and I'm going to say Euro 2008 is the time they'll do it. (Plus Torres is in freakishly good form at the moment).

I would rather see the Swiss win then Germany. Ever. Germany can suck it - hard.

Well, as far as my expectations for this tournament, I don't know who will win. I do however expect the winner to come from group C, beating Germany in the final.

For my own country (The Netherlands) it will be tough to qualify, but if we do we'll at least have eliminated one favorite in the group stages. It will mainly come down to how our midfielders play. Robben seems to be hitting form again, Van Persie is coming back from injury and should be fit without being exhausted from a long hard season. Sneijder should have learned a lot from his first season at Real Madrid and Van der Vaart has great talent and should have the experience now to be important on a major tournament. Our defense however is pretty weak, so I fear Van der Sar will be very busy. Luckily he is a great goalie, so he should be up to the task.

Only 2 more days to go!

Don't forget Romania is also a very tough team to play against..

Well, I really don't expect Romania to win the tournament and I think they are the least likely to advance to the next round in group C.
