Out of curiosity WoW, what rpg would you call the best of all time

Hint: if you want me to totally agree with you, your answer should rhyme with birthmound.

 What would you do if he said Mother 2? :3

Probably send him a cake in the mail....with a file in it......cuz he could be in jail, I don't know his business.

You also forgot to mention that Kratos was voiced by the same guy that did Liquid from Metal Gear Solid. I kept waiting for him to shout, "SNAAAAKE" through out the entire game.

He also did the voice of He-Man from the recent He-Man cartoon on Cartoon Network. The one that came out around 2005-2006.

@Rol

I was 11! :P

@WOW

Edit the OP and change it to "an RPG for 11 year olds".

Ironic, I started to play Star Ocean 3 when I was 11.  The game was out in the US for about a month when I got it.  I never played ToS but I know while it was great, it did have its flaws

It has some flaws but I enjoyed it anyways:

The battle system is really great and if you want the game harder just use the grades on the new game plus to make it harder.

Colette was a bit annoying but she does save you with her clumsiness. Give her a bit of credit. Lloyd is an idiot but it was a change from the generic "i'm-so-badass" hero and there was some funny parts with him.

Sheena was an awesome versatile character with both great physical, stats and summon attacks and Zelos has some great plot twist. Kratos was your badass guy. Precia had a dramatic background. Genis and Raine... Really useful and... Ruin-Mode. XD Regal... Well I didn't use him much. :P

The towns were great (especially Flanoir) and all the scenes and skits were really entertaining to watch. The character relationship system was great too.

It is considered a great game by Lolita.

Points 2, 3 and 6 are good ones. The rest is rubbish.

1) Lloyd is not overpowered, he is just like any other game main character. What I mean, is that he will be the most used one, so his combos are easier to pull and he is pretty simple to master. Just compare the protagonist of any big name RPG and you will see that the difference between Lloyd and the rest is not so impressive. Also, the arena can be even easier with Genis, Colette and Zelos (assuming you are on the first playthrough).

4) You are not playing the game right. Ex spheres can make the game much easier. Among useful Ex skills we have:
stun proof, guard break, status immunity, instant cast, increased item find percentage, xp plus, auto revive, 90% TP cost reduction
Now tell me that frog, deathblow and elemental materias are more useful than that. And do not ignore some usefull field abilities like healing for 1 tp, talking to women for free items and buying items cheaper.

5) Cooking is very useful. Again, I think you are not doing it right. Just set everyone to go all out and after the battle recover 30-40% of your TP. That way you can save your items for boss battles and waste less money on bottles and jellies (food is much cheaper). To be fair, there are a lot of useless status curing recipes. I do not understand your point about Raine. You recover at most 10% TP after battle. Lloyd can waste up to 200 TP without the TP reduction items and some Genis spells cost more than 100 TP. 10% TP recovery after battles is not enough, unless you just mash attack button with Lloyd and set everyone to save 50-75% TP.

Awww... it seems not many people like clumsy main girl characters.

What's wrong with you guys?

I only agree with number 5. 6 I would, except that ToS was like rpg #3 or so for me :D 1 2 and 3 are right to a certain degree, but I see no problem. 4 I disagree- I make some pretty sick combo's using colletee that could only be pulled of by giving Colette highly specific high level ex spheres

2. Lloyd is an idiot but as the game goes on you can see he is not a total idiot when he thinks of great ideas plus develops well. He has great ties with the other characters. He is not a complete idiot.  The game tries.  Genis fixes that.

4. Not true. I found Ex-Spheres pretty useful. Like running faster in cities/dungeons and in battles, finding items, being able to do more than two combos, air combos, etc. Ex-spheres are definitely not useless.  I didn't except for the aforementioned run ability.  I don't even think I cared what Ex-spheres were on my characters after the first 20 hours in the game.  It was literally a waste of time to stop and twiddle with them when I could just kill the enemies without doing so.

5. Cooking helps in the later parts of the game like the Coliseum if you're having trouble with the cameo fight and such you can use cooking beforehand to heal (unless you just use Raine >_>). Actually, I never use Raine for some reason (besides Abyssion on Mania :P). My main party is Lloyd, Genis, Zelos, and Sheena. In the cameo fight I always used Lloyd, Genis, and Zelos. Cooking helps.  Exactly, Raine does everything cooking can do herself without having to run around everywhere looking for recipes and ingredients.  Since you have Raine almost from the very start, there's no reason to ever care.

6. That's not true. Some things I didn't see coming. As for Kratos, a first time player wouldn't get that much of an impression like that unless you were spending a lot of time and getting all these skits. THEN you might be able to figure that out. Also, I'm pretty sure you didn't know Kratos was gonna go all evil in the Tower of Salvation. I'm also sure you didn't know the Renegades were actually good and not evil. Plus you never thought Zelos was going to turn evil if you choose Kratos at Flanoir. There may be some predictable stuff (I actually never did) but there are a lot of unpredictable things too. Btw, I thought Mithos (when you first meet Mithos at that one village that I forget its name) was a girl at first until they said "he." >_> LOL.

Are you kidding about Zelos?  I seem to recall his lines hinting that he was going to do something regrettable in the future and that's about the only thing that would entitle that (that would likely to be thought of by the writers anyway).

Anyone who can pick a single RPG as "the best of all time" has not played enough RPGs.

I could not imagine wanting to play that game single player.

4 players? We had a great time. Single player? Boring.

Also, when it came to fighting, me (Collette/Raine.... my friends find it amusing to make me play weak women) and the guy playing as Genis/Regal cleared the arena solo much easier than our Lloyd player. Mayhaps the experience of fighting as them for the entire game made the arena a joke?

See Ya George.

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.
