Just to be perfectly sure...is anybody agreeing with Rock here? Because this is outrageous

I would be, but its against my beliefs as I think the Xbox360 will outsell the PS3 Q3/Q4 because they are changing their consoles name to iiW and the Wii buyers are too dumb to tell the difference.

MGS 4 launch week= 500 000 PS3's sold first week worldwide. MGS 4 = 2 million first week sales.

^That is my MGS 4 first week sales predictions.

I always try staying positive when replying in threads, but I gotta admit... I dont see the PS3 outselling the 360 in November :( If things went REAL good for Sony (MGS4/LBP/Home), I can see the gap closing very fast, but not passing it just yet... unless the 360 sells 0 until then November

But hey, Im open-minded and enjoy seeing competition, so I'm with you Rock_on_2008! Heres to hoping a great next 6 months for the PS3 :)

It looks like, PS3 will overtake 360 in 3rd quarter of 09 or so, if not later if PS3 begins to slide in sales again as they have lately (360 now outselling PS3 again in USA, Uk) . <--BTW I'm using real NPD/Charttrack figures not vgchartz.

BTW I'm going by shipment numbers. As of 3/31/08 it was 12.85 PS3 19.0 360. PS3 gained about one million those three months (2.24 versus 1.3). Personally I think that was a anamoly for several reasons, but lets be kind to PS3 and assume it keeps gaining 1 million every three months shipped..it trails by 6m so that's 18 months, 1.5 years, late 2009.

In actuality, in favor of the PS3 you might expect it to gain more than 1m in holiday Q.

But in favor of 360, MS probably undershipped that Q (USA shortages during that time). And also, Sony has already stated a PS3 price cut wont happen before 3/31/09. So I expect once 360 makes it's big price cut, PS3's lead will slow down a lot, leading to the PS3 wont take the lead until 2010, or possibly never.
