Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Developing “Transformer” Controller

Gotta admit thats a neat idea, it isn't just copying Nintendo like with Microsoft is doing with the Xmote.

however, it looks fragile and expensive. Not a good combination for something that is going to be used a lot.

It looks cool, but all those moving parts could be a problem. It might break easier than your normal controller.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

if it works, it will win the console war.

I don't know about this...I mean really, who are they trying to impress here? These kind of ideas only impress the core gamers, the one who are already sold on the idea of a PS3....and EVEN then, some gamers are not going to be okay with this kind of controller because they think its a gimmick.

And if you think this kind of controller is going to attract the casuals, lol you are making a big mistake. If they weren't confused before with all of the buttons on the DS3, they will be for the "Transformer" controller.

If Sony went ahead with this controller, it will not only alienate the casuals further, but just grab a bunch of core gamers that you already have...it would just be a big waste of money.

Of course that is just my assumption...I'm not a hardware maker nor am I in the video game business or in any business for that matter. But it just doesn't make any sense to continue any further with the development of this controller; not due to its function but just money wise.

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

I would probably just buy just to have it. At a reasonable price.

Click the link and the update says the second rumor of Sonys video service launching during E3 '08 is confirmed by a possible EA employee on NeoGaf. =)))

Thats not a pic of the controller, that looks like it was a promotion figurine for Transformers. This controller is just a rumor so theres no actual pics.

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

cool idea, thats just the sort of innovative thing that could boost sales and benefit gamers, to be able to switch control alignment would be aces.
