EA lost money because they bought Bioware and maybe an other studio that I forgot.

How has Konami made so much money? DDR in arcades? What about SE? They haven't released anything big in the last year.

If anyone could explain it to me, I would be glad.

Japanese company are traditionally more conservative than western one. Oh you must note that many of japanese publisher have other revenue entry from other activities than VG business.

I think that the problem of EA is that they are so big that a few years ago their revenue growth YoY became flat at around US$ 3 billion. If you add the fact that R&D cost skyrocket and that they didn't have the talented studio to create new successful IP ( only studio to make sequels over sequels ) then you know that EA had a problem from quite a few time.

@Sullla

I think that another interesting point is that if you add the profit in last 12 months ( circa ) of SCE, MS H&E and the other major publisher in the industry you obtain a loss ( even if you cut off the MS H&E quarter from April to June were they write down about US$ 1 billion in RRoD ).

And then there is Nintendo with insanely profit.

I wish he would publish all this in a book and/or audio book. I've read it all but I'd like to read it again. After reading him I find most other commentators are either Captain Obvious or blithering idiots.

I wonder if anyone at Sony or Microsoft are reading.

My sentiments exactly. I think we'll see in time if he is right or just overly zealous, but my guess is the former. At least he is the only one I've read so far that actually appears to have some backing of all his statements, and that has actually sat down and thought things through.

And I sure hope that Sony and Microsoft are spending some time reading his articles. They need it :)

This is invisible text!

i will start reading

Sony and MS definitely need to read those articles (jeez those took forever to read.)

It's why I giggle when people talk about the Xmote ot PSmote: They are predictably falling into the Disruption Trap.

These articles felt a bit more like summary articles (gigantically long summary articles...) but they did put all of Nintendo's goals into one spot.

And, I'm happy he went through the Sacred Cow Myths, those drove me nuts.

Oh snap, Disruptive Values test!

After changing my answers about a million times (especially number 10)

HOLY SNAP I got em all right!

The 10-point scale readings are also pretty hilarious.
