Yer kidding right? A game gets a 91 and you're already pegging it as a disappointment. Who are you saying will be disappointed by this game, because I'll tell you that the game could get a 60 on metacritic, if it's still the same game I've been seeing in the previews then I'll be happy.

On another note, since when does a game need to get only 10's in the first week or so of reviews for it to be a fantastic game?

I think you are the reason why the whole system of reviewing is flawed.. 9/10 is bloody fantastic, and this game has only gotten one of them thus far, to say that a game doesn't live up to the hype due to a lack of 10/10s is simply idiotic.. this game may or may not be a disappointment.. but a lack of all being 10s and scores  *only* better than 9 does not show any ground towards a game being a disappointment, in fact.. it shows that it is a damn good game

This is coming from someone who hasn't played a single MGS game, nor will I buy MGS4.. so don't think i'm just defending this particular game

Super Mario Galaxy did not get an assload of 10/10s at first. It turned out to do just fine in review scores. Unless you believe a 97 from IGN and a 95 from Gamespot is disappointing.

an 18/20 isnt even a 90/100. But of course thats what metacritic will put it at. Just like a 4/5 isnt a 80. That means the game scored really AWESOME on their point scale.... but ofcourse metacritic is DA BEST!

You're wrong. 18/20 = 90/100 because 18 times 5 = 90 and 20 times 5 = 100. therefore, because 90/100 = 18/20 its the same thing. its called the lowest common denominator, I think. Right? Same with the 4/5 one.

youre wrong. The reviews are on a 20point scale and a 5 point scale. 1 point is not weighted to 20 points on the 5 point scale. METACRITICS IS FLAWED! they are changing the way reviews score a game. JUST LIKE HOW A B+ GAME DOES NOT = 85% the reviews are using their own point scale not METACRITICS (And for reviews with 18/20 4/5 and B+ ratings those are dame good games)

PS - only way to grade a game on a different scale to your scale would be to ask the reviewer to rate it specifically for you. I'm sure knowing they have 95 extra points to fool around with would give the reviewer a different perspective,

Theres no need for panic over 1 review giving the game...and most people will buy the game regardless of whatver 90+ score metacritic gives it

If we assume that only games with a 95+ score are amazing games, I guess there have only been 18 amazing games then... damn, I thought there were more...
