I agree that EA seriously screwed up by not using Spielberg's name more.

Are you kidding? when I heard of Spieberg making a game, do you know what I thought of? E.T.... The Game... The biggest, ugliest, steaming piece of dog crap shovelware in history...

Advertising Spielberg would not have been a good option... I'm glad they didn't... I still have yet to pick up the game, but that's probably due to my wallet starving for cash...

The vast majority of gamers have never heard of E.T. the game.

They have, however, heard of E.T. the movie, as well as Jaws, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, etc. He is very popular among the mainstream. Try to remember that the portion of the consumer base that discusses these things online, and would thus know the story of a massive flop from the second generation, is not representative of the whole.

My only complaint is the pointer function, some how the sun rays is disturbing the Wii control so I can't point at anything, it just moves around faster than a goafer in a geiser. But it has nothing to do with the game, I just have to wait for the sun to set until I can play :P

Predictions for December 31st 2008:
Wii 38,000,000
DS 84,500,000
PS3 17,000,000
PSP 41,000,000
X360 23,000,000

Still not buying.
They themselves said they were aiming for the 12yr old kiddy casual market with this title.
It deserves to bomb regardless of quality.

Prediction:
Disney will make KH3 with Nintendo.Yes,KH3 will be a Disney/Nintendo crossover.

Well duh, because we "hard core" gamers should condemn and curse EA for committing themselves to take the time and effort to make a game fun for kids and families. If it's without violence, the game should never see the day of light.

I'm not a hardcore gamer. It was just blatant stupidity.Stop defending this bullshit.

Segmenting their target market and then release this caliber of game.Idiocy.

These same children their supposedly targeting have a choice to make.

MK:Wii,Brawl,Galaxy or Boom Blox? Hmmmmmmmmm.

It's true, the Wii hates the sun. Drawing the curtains and moving reflective objects out of sunbeams should help. Otherwise, you'll be having this problem with every game that relies on IR.

I heard you can change the sensitivity in the menu.

Haven't looked for this option though, sunbeams never reach my room.

Boom Blox is bullshit? EA or Steven Spielberg decided to make a high quality game for the mainstream people, who is used to constant shovelware thrown at them from greedy publishers trying to make quick buck and somehow, it's bullshit. Boom Blox isn't just meant for children, you know but for everybody (including core gamers). Sorry, but saying a quality game deserves to bomb because you think it's meant for children just smacks of ignorance. Oh yes, with time, they can buy all of those games you mentioned. It isn't a simple matter being able to only buy one game.

Agreed. Great game, and even better when you play with friends. I'd been playing it last weekend with two friends of mine and we enjoyed it so much. What's more, this game convinced a friend of mine to buy a Wii (also has an Xbox360). To sum up: fun, accessible, addictive. What more could you ask for?
