Forums - Gaming - What was the first game that marred your 5th gen vision?

Tony Hawk pro skater 2 for the N64... After I'd seen THPS4 for the Gamecube I seriously said (out loud) that games couldn't get better graphics from this point on... Lol!

007 when i had still my n64 (and i bought another one at a thrift store) i borowed it form one of my class mates at gym (and i gave him WWF No Mercy for a while)

The 5th gen hage aged very badly. I can't enjoy the old RE's anymore after REmake and RE4.
MGS feels horrible after Twin Snakes.

Castlevania:SotN and Zelda:OoT are still amazing and there are probably a few others, but overall the first 3D gen isn't that wonderful anymore.

5th gen is PS1/N64, right?

well assuming i'm right i'll have to say NHL 98, I'm pretty sure thats the first game i played really.

We got PS1 in '97. But we had a 3DO for a while, so thats the reason for getting PS1 so late.

The first 5th game game I played was Super Mario 64

panzer dragoon on sega saturn..... anything and everything on ps1, and nothing on n64.. i haven't played it since the beggining of the last gen... so in my opinion, the 64's graphics are still good

None. I appreciate games for their time :D

Not necessarily that the game's graphics were bad, but that you notice the individual polygons and blocky characters. Back then, I thought PS1 looked like PS3 now, just not shiny all over.

Ocarina of time has aged incredibly well. It doesnt look too bad now after playing through it about 8 months ago....

I watched a video of lylat wars (starfox 64) today, and my word, it hasnt aged well at all...apart from the none gameplay scenes, which arent too bad...

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

The Playstation aged way worse than the N64, but I can't say I was ever happy about the graphics back then. Go try to play Silent Hill now: The graphics seemed horrible back then, and they are craptastic now.

The Playstation games that have aged the best IMO are Final Fantasy Tactics and Symphony Of the Night. Wonder why? :)

not in 32-bit 3d visuals department?
