Did anybody else notice that often, the race results are not "correct"? Sometimes I finish first, but the ranking says I'm third - or the other way round. It only happens when the finish is really close.

And online, it's definitely harder to hit other karts with green shells. Often they go right through the opponents.

It's for a similar reason to what I've discussed above. On your screen, you can see the up-to-date position of your own character, but the other players are just what your Wii is currently assuming based on the best information it has. Other players may be seeing a slightly different picture due to transmission delays.

The game server is the final judge on what the positions are, since it's the entity which has the most information from all the players. This is true for most online games.

This reminds me what happened to my wife couple of weeks ago, she was playing online on a game that had two 9000+ guys playing. She had finished 3rd in the last race, so she started 3rd on the grid. Game starts, she has superstart, gets to first place, the game end (propably due server, since she got thrown out), but before getting thrown out, end results come to the screen; she finished first and was awarded for more than 300 points.

^I have had something similar to that happen too, I think that is when Nintendo's servers fail only for your connection, so it (kindly) awards you first place and any points that you would have got from it.

The rest of the players in that match will likely have seen your wife at the bottom of the results when they finished.

Yesterday I got disconnected... And i Got firsts place too... Sadly to the rest of the guys I was the last place...

I had one time that everyone dropped but me and my guest (my son) ... then we dropped. I ended up having to reset my cable modem after that incident. I was hoping to score big (cheap) points on that one too 8*>

Which leads me to the question ... has Mario Kart caused anyone to have router or related (cable modem, broadband modem) issues?

This is a hard one to prove because as mentioned before, they may assume that you just pulled out the plugs. If they let YOU off the hook because of your honesty dishonest people may have the same reason but instead of truthfully having you connection disconnected mayjust pull the plugs. Its a hard case to prove but you may just have a chance.

Ok decided to take someone's advice and get the points back the hard way. I played with so much anger and frustration that I ended up driving nothing but flawlessly in every track and now not only did I get all my points back but got up tp 9300. Now if Nintendo can give me my points back and boost me up to 9800 (LOL).

wow this happened to me like a couple weeks ago I was so mad cause I was 30points from 9000vr points .....I stopped playing MK online for about 2-3days. Now i'm addicted again and backup to 9600vr points :)
