Forums - Microsoft - Fisrt batches of NG2 review out.

I hope Ninja Gaiden 2 is more fun than the lame Devil May Cry 4.

NG 2 will end up with similar scores to DMC 4 in the low to mid 80's.

Tone it down a bit, man. DMC4 is not lame by any means.

You may not like it but it does what it intends pretty well.

Seems like the commenters seem to think these reviews are of the review build, and the camera and frame-rate issues are being fixed for the unfinished retail release, or so says team-xbox.

Anyway, I expect Sony fanboy marginalization by cherrypicking the games-radar review, and the main talking point will be "bad camera" despite the fact that said fanboys don't own Xbox 360's and never have, and in fact can't actually play the game for themselves.

yeah, because it's only the sony fanboys who cherry pick.

there was no need for that comment in my opinion.

It's usually sony fanboys that cherrypick bad reviews for 360 exclusive titles. That's what I mean. I didn't mean Sony fanboys are particularly worse than Microsoft or Nintendo fanboys. Just that in this case, they will be on the attack.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

@bbsin

Is there a reason you left out the gamesradar complaint:

"# Punishing difficulty makes victory nigh-impossible"

Cause it sheds a lot of light on their review. In fact, the majority of the review complains only about the difficulty and fairness of the game. All the other reviews praise the difficulty, and Gamesradar says itself, if you loved the first Ninja Gaiden, you will love this game.

You shouldn't leave that out, because again, it sheds a lot of light on why they gave it a 7, and indeed will discredit that relatively poor review in a lot of people's eyes. To be honest, if you didn't have that Mass Effect avatar, I'd have my suspicions that you were attempting to make the game look bad by that omission because it's quite glaring(IMO, the difficulty in the original NG was one of the best parts of the game, while Gameradar spends their entire review berating NG2 and NG1 for it's difficulty, which is amazing to me and every other Ninja Gaiden purist).

Could you please respond to this post and perhaps edit the OP to add that all vital fact into the negatives of the gamesradar review section, please sir.

same as if ms fanboys cherrypick bad reviews on ps titles, and so do wii fanboys. they're all as bad as each other, we all know that too, that's why i have no idea why you mentioned something so obvious. other than my initial thought being that you were using it to flamebait.

I think it's obvious why I mentioned it. It gives said fanboys pause to do exactly what I said they would in a previous post. Now, when someone does do what I mentioned, one could simply quote my original post(which I edited to add exactly why I mentioned sony fanboys in particular because you didn't understand, it seems, though I thought it was very obvious).

My post now effectively prevents Sony fanboys from flaming Ninja Gaiden 2 by using the gameradar review and pointing to the camera, because it effecitvly turns their predictable and biased marginaliaztion post into a funny, predictable, satirical look at fanboyism in general.

If anything is predictable, it's fanboyism on the interent. If you don't see the reason why busting them out before they have a chance to unload with their hate guns, is important when possible, then I don't think you understand the nature of the beast we're dealing with here.

I don't understand why you are so offended though? Why stick up for fanboys, be them Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft? I tend to be a Nintendo fanboy, but I try not to flame other consoles, and I would never stick up for other Nintendo fanboys who would attempt to marginalize great games on other systems by pointing to the lowest available review scores.

I left the "# Punishing difficulty makes victory nigh-impossible" part out because " Punishing difficulty makes victory that much sweeter" kinda negates it (atleast IMO). If I added their negative views about difficulty , I'd have to add their positive view about difficulty, which would make it look pointless. Regardless, I don't think diffilculty is a negative for anygame unless the player is completely handicaped and treated unfairly due to crap controls and BS A.I (which isn't true in NG). With that said, I will gladly respond to your posts but I won't change the summary of the OP since it's not my goal to discredit GamesRadar even if I disagree with their complaints about difficulty. If people choose to ignore/discredit any of the reviews, it would be 100% up to them. Either way, I'm not averaging all the scores so if 7.0/10 is not common and ends up as the lowest score, I don't think that it would bring any unjustified harm toward NG2 hype.

Zen, I think your biggest problem is that you give fanboys too much credit. No matter what you say, they will attack you.

Shit, look at my editorials. I systematically attack every company, every developer, and every hardware manufacturer, yet I'm still called a fanboy constantly. Fanboys will only read what they want to and discard the rest. That makes it easier to call you names without rationalization.

BTW Zen, your last post was total OMG GHEY F4NB0Y X30T!!!!111.

That's entirely up to you. I just want to be clear. I wasn't asking you to discredit anything. I was simply asking that you completely list the pros and cons. The discrediting of the reviews after that will handle itself.

i'm not offended, and i'm not sticking up for any sort of fanboy. i just think the word "fanboy" is used way too loosely these days. i'm pro sony and will admit that is why i reacted to your post, but i don't see why only sony fanboys would be the ones to cherry pick the bad reviews of this game. now if anyone dares to badmouth the game in this thread, they're most likely to be labelled a sony fanboy, when they could just simply not like the game, or be a nintendo fanboy even.

i don't think it's important to call out fanboys, because they'll keep coming whether you like it or not. you'll probably look as bad as them because you're going to end up looking like somebody who just calls people fanboys all the time, because that's who you will always target, which is kind of lame (i'm not saying that you do, though). through my experience, fanboys crave attention. so if you're calling them out, they'll be more than happy to march out and act like what you want them to, because they'll only just annoy people. fanboys are irrational, so you could prove them wrong, and they'll still find a reason to reply, and that's simply because you're replying back.

that aside though, i'll be getting this game because i had the first one on xbox and enjoyed it. reviews mean nothing to me if i want the game already.
