I think it's obvious why I mentioned it. It gives said fanboys pause to do exactly what I said they would in a previous post. Now, when someone does do what I mentioned, one could simply quote my original post(which I edited to add exactly why I mentioned sony fanboys in particular because you didn't understand, it seems, though I thought it was very obvious). My post now effectively prevents Sony fanboys from flaming Ninja Gaiden 2 by using the gameradar review and pointing to the camera, because it effecitvly turns their predictable and biased marginaliaztion post into a funny, predictable, satirical look at fanboyism in general. If anything is predictable, it's fanboyism on the interent. If you don't see the reason why busting them out before they have a chance to unload with their hate guns, is important when possible, then I don't think you understand the nature of the beast we're dealing with here.
I don't understand why you are so offended though? Why stick up for fanboys, be them Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft? I tend to be a Nintendo fanboy, but I try not to flame other consoles, and I would never stick up for other Nintendo fanboys who would attempt to marginalize great games on other systems by pointing to the lowest available review scores. |
i'm not offended, and i'm not sticking up for any sort of fanboy. i just think the word "fanboy" is used way too loosely these days. i'm pro sony and will admit that is why i reacted to your post, but i don't see why only sony fanboys would be the ones to cherry pick the bad reviews of this game. now if anyone dares to badmouth the game in this thread, they're most likely to be labelled a sony fanboy, when they could just simply not like the game, or be a nintendo fanboy even.
i don't think it's important to call out fanboys, because they'll keep coming whether you like it or not. you'll probably look as bad as them because you're going to end up looking like somebody who just calls people fanboys all the time, because that's who you will always target, which is kind of lame (i'm not saying that you do, though). through my experience, fanboys crave attention. so if you're calling them out, they'll be more than happy to march out and act like what you want them to, because they'll only just annoy people. fanboys are irrational, so you could prove them wrong, and they'll still find a reason to reply, and that's simply because you're replying back.
that aside though, i'll be getting this game because i had the first one on xbox and enjoyed it. reviews mean nothing to me if i want the game already.
