Forums - Gaming - Am I the Oldest? 7 Consoles 122 Games

Let me say this just once. My profile is a joke, Grampy is the oldest member. And some kids here need to show more respect for their elders.

Let me rephrase...

How are you still interested and physically able to play games like WiiFit at 62?

LOL. My father will tire you out in about 3 hours of work if you tried to follow him around. He is retired, and does Habitat for Humanity all day. He puts about 10-12 hours a day into building houses. He got his general contractors license for fun, and will do any part of home construction (He spend a month here remodeling my bathroom all by himself. He pulled up flooring, removed a tile shower area, gutted reframed, did all the electrical and plumbing. He did it all. He will turn 70 in 6 months.

My friend Terry just won his wight class in the Florida state Senior games. He benched 226 pounds, and dead lifted 408 pounds. He is 66.

I think they both would have no problems with WiiFit. ;)

Oh, and to the OP. I have owned every major console from Pong, other then the N64 and GC. I am a PC gamer at heart, and have owned thousands of games in my time. I tend to give everything I don't play anymore to family members, so they can enjoy it, so currently I only have a 360, PC3, and Wii.

I am 38.

Oh, and the coolest thing in my old gaming history, is I used to play this thing:

And when I say this thing, I don't mean a model like the one in the photo, I mean the exact console in the photo is the one I would play. My best friends father growing up was the producer on those commercials, so he was allowed to keep anything he wanted from the set. He took all the games and a console home for his son. Remember the commercial where he showed that the number of games would stack higher then he was tall? Yea, we had a lot of games to play that day :)

Grampy, thats really awesome I hope I'm the same way when I hit that marker in life, I'm 22 so I have a ways to go.

My oldest system is a N64, no comment, I live in a fraternity house right now and things tend to break/have beer poured on them if your not careful so the systems that I can have up high like the wii and ps3 are the best for my room (lack of cords).

To the non-respectful people, what would you rather do in your retirement play shuffleboard and bridge or Mario Kart and Metroid?

UBISOFT BOYCOTT

Maths time!

I am about 34% of your age.
I currently own 2/7ths of your number of consoles, although I have owned double that.
My games:Your games ratio is about 1:2, although I currently own only 65% of what I have owned.

Well I know Fkusumot is 44. I don't know if I'm supposed to tell everyone that though...

His name is Frank Kusumoto I think.

so you can pronounce it as you wish really, I prefer the "fuk-yous-you-M-O-T"

You guys sure have a lot of games. Where do you find the time? I never thought of collecting them.

I did own some games which I didn't count because they weren't in the game data base. I played most of the great old Infocom text only game including Hithiker's Guide to the Galaxy with the ultimate Babel fish puzzle and the never to be forgotten Leather Goddesses of Phobos.

Also, where are the Stormovik ariel combat games. and how could they possibly have ommited all of the Leisure Suit Larry Games.

PS: I'm kinda sorry no one said what were their favorite console/games and especially told us any overlooked and forgotten treasures we should look for.

My favourite console is arguably now the Wii, even though I haven't finished buying games for it.

forgotten gems for me are Blast Corps on the N64, and Chibi Robo on the GC. but GC and N64 seem to be your most gamed-up consoles so you might have 1 or both yourself.

@Grampy: Remember that most of this people doesn't yet have their own families and have been playing games since small kids, so the time for games is reserved by default.

I really have hard time deciding the favourite console, but maybe i could pick SNES and N64 as favourites.

And what "forgotten gems" to pick up, i'd pick Blast Corps for N64 (Rare developed game, so it's propably not going to end up to Virtual Console) and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (Shadown of the Empire in VGC database) for N64. It's the only good Star Wars game i have ever played and Wave Race 64.
For SNES, Another World (well, it's a PC port), Flashback (not sure was this originally a PC game too) and Shadowrun.
For Gamecube, Eternal Darkness.
And Battletoads and Snake Rattle'n'Roll for NES (both Rare games).
