16, I currently own around 50 games today,
but if I still had my collection of SNES, N64, Genesis, Dreamcast, and Gameboy games I would have more than 150 games total

My first computer was a 16bit Atari ST
Not really. The last heavy dutygame like that I played was Call of Duty 1 and 2 online. I enjoyed them but frankly I got tired of all the 16 year olds with faster reflexes kicking my ass. Also it was turning into a black hole of time which I didn't have. |
Did you have Predator for the ST?

Lolz I don't really have lots of money, I'm just very good at finding games for really good prices. |
My brother and I were similar. I don't think either of us (or my parents) purchased a PC game at full price until I was 16 or so. AU$15 was about the limit (most PC games were $60+ at the time), with many of our games being bought in large amounts at sales for AU$5-10 each. We'd easily have 300+ PC games from over the years.
I also purchased a gamecube late in its life. Out of the 24 games I own, only 4 of them were new, and even then I didn't pay any more than AU$60 for a game. The most expensive 2nd hand one I got was AU$32.
The Wii on the other hand has been a different story. Since I actually have a decent income now, I own 18 games, with most of them purchased at "full" price (full price being whatever the cheapest I could get them at release was).
On the topic of older gamers, My uncle is 57 and recently bought a 360. Last I spoke to him a few weeks ago, he was getting into Gears and Assassin's Creed.
Searching my memory, almost 30 years ago and looking at some pictures on the internet, I'm prety sure that I actually started with the Atari 1200XL. I do remember it had a couple of joystick ports and took cartridges but I don't recall playing games on it. I really mostly used it to learn basic, that is of course Atari basic.

It was a beggining. From the first PC, I have made my living on computers and still do.

Here are some of my collection:
Consoles:
Megadrive, SNES, NES, Saturn, Atari 2600, C64, Wii, PS3, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, N64, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Micro, NDS, NDS Lite, PSP. Probably several more in the garage.
Games:
Lots............... easily several hundred.
I'm 30. I'm pretty proud of my collection - its all in working order too.
Grampy, that's awesome that you're still playing! I'm not quite to 62 yet, but at 36 I often feel like an old man on these forums, and pretty much all the forums I frequent with the exception of the motorhome forums...there, I'm freakishly YOUNG! :) Is there no proper place for a man in his late 30's on the internet?
I started with a Pong clone (Coleco TelStar) and haven't stopped playing since. This is a list of consoles I either own or have owned at some point:
Odyssey (original)
Pong clone (TelStar)
Fairchild Channel F
Odyssey 2
Atari 2600
Intellivision
ColecoVision
Vectrex
Atari 5200
Atari 7800
NES
Sega Master System
TurboGrafx 16 (and CD attachment, and a TurboDuo also)
SNES
Genesis (and CD attachment & 32X upgrade)
Neo*Geo
3DO
Jaguar (and CD attachment)
Saturn
Playstation
Nintendo 64
Dreamcast
Playstation 2
GameCube
XBox
Wii
I also have or have had most of the handheld systems produced as well as lots of different arcade games over the years. At one point I had over 30 arcade games, but I'm down to only 3 now. Well, 4 if you count the Megatouch on my bar. =)

Now did I think about it, it's probably more like 20 times. |
Wait-whut? So you're saying you've got over two thousand four hundred videogames?
Lol, yeah right.

Wow for having that many consoles, you didn't have many games. I probably had half that on PS2 alone. and i'm sure some people had as many on just one console.

18 years old and 1200 games. That's one hell of a paper route you got. 1200 x 40 = $48,000 |
=p I am sure SleepWalking is buying a lot of old games for a cheap price (like I do).
