18 years old and 1200 games. That's one hell of a paper route you got. 1200 x 40 = $48,000 |
Now did I think about it, it's probably more like 20 times.

You guys have got to tell me where you find these paper routes. Hell that first kid is telling me he's spent on video games close to what I make in a year after taxes. LOL (bitterly) |
Lolz I don't really have lots of money, I'm just very good at finding games for really good prices.

She's not quite as much into video games, although she will play some on the Wii, which is nice since I haven't been able to get her to since the Atari 2600.

Sorry, I did see it but I figured you were just another old fart that can't type.

62, huh? What was your first computer? Specifications? Also, you play games like Gears of War?

It's the rich kids and then again, there's the internet with ROMs and emulators. What i find interesting is, that you already have 24 games for the Wii, which would mean that Nintendos strategy in making games for mature taste works, but also the 33 GC games is really interesting. @People: What's odd about older people playing video games? My grandfather decided to learn how to use computer at the age of 80 and after he learned, all he did with it was play Solitaire and Spider.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
Grampy,
I see you have a lot of FPS for the Wii. Like Blazing Angels, MOH: heroes 2, MoH Vanguard, CoD 3.
Do you play them a lot (or are they for some other family member)? And do you like FPSs?
| Majin-Tenshinhan said: That's great. A lot of older people shun video games for unknown reason, but I love how you embrace them instead. I salute you! |
I can suggest three reasons why many don't still play.
TIME: I just don't have the time to spend on games I once did. I'm retired but I am still working full time (slept through that class). I'm also writing, currently my third book, and I have many other interests including digital imaging, and Z gauge trains. Plus, she who must be obeyed expects me to do a few things around the house. I'm not a candidate for WoW that's for sure. I lik games I can play for a hour or less at a time.
CONTROLS: Don't let them kid you, reflexes slow down with age. It gets harder to use a controller that has you doing stuff like you were playing a clarinet while trying to keep up with a fast moving game on the screen. It had gotten frustrating and I would have canned the whole thing if Nintendo hadn't come up with a better (simpler) way.
PLAYFULNESS: Some older folks seem to think that video games are just for teenagers and too frivolous to play. Fortunately, I never grew up so I figure if it's fun, then f**k dignity..

My dad is 67 now, and he still plays shooters like Return to castle wolfenstein and wolfenstein 3d. He still plays about 10 hours or so a week in his shooters. He just plays them OVER AND OVER again. I think hes finished Wolfenstein 3d over a hundred times! I must find out what hes currently playing, though I might give him my PC copy of Halo 1 to try.
Tease.
