Hey that goes for every candidate ever. They say what we want to hear to get our votes and then they go batshit crazy and the media and Congress are too scared/stupid to call them on it. Bush did run on a "no nation building" and "smaller government" platform. And now we have multiple wars and a Patriot Act to fuck up our kids forever.

No it doesn't. McCain really has no radical beliefs that make me not only not want to vote for him, but to dislike him as a human being. These policies are only secret to the uninformed. I know all of McCain's policies. He's an across the isle candidate. Obama is the farthest left candidate ever to run for office.

The problem is, most people want to vote for obama because he's charasmatic, promises change, and wants to pull out of the Iraq war. Don't buy his speil that McCain is just like Bush. No torture, Iraqi withdrawal, more open boarders and citizenship. These are all things that McCain is for, but replublicans hate. Most people vote along party lines, instead of deciding who the best candidate is.

What SSJ12 is saying is this: Obama voted against supplying our troops with the resources they need in Iraq, in order to protest the war. The result was, more of our troops could have, or did die, so he could send a message to the white house that the other branches of government won't support the war. That's a pretty hefty price to pay. "George W, we don't like the war, so we're not gonna send any life saving supplies to the troops. When they can't fight from being either dead or wounded, then you'll have to end it, and we can get on with our lives." That's not how I see it, or Obama saw it, but that's how it was, and it was a mistake.

I personally don't blame Obama for mistakes made in the past. I'm more worried about the ones he'll make in the future.

That said, I'm not campaigning, I'm just tired of people blindly following Obama, and when I don't like him, I get called a racist. That's silly.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I prefer Obama myself (I suppose I fit into the evil majority of Americans then, since he's winning more voters, right?). Still, just because Obama had a better opinion on a couple issues doesn't mean he's magically a better candidate. That would be (and I hate this word) cherry picking.

An Obama pimping thread? I have a feeling we'll see quite a few of these in the coming months.

I actually think the biggest major problem in America today is people not willing to accept responsibility for their own actions. Fix that and things will improve tremendously (although, compared to most places we have it really good here).

Yeah... that's the funny thing about McCain. He's a moderate who says rightwing things just to get people to vote for him.

All three candidates this election seem nearly exactly the same.

Clinton being the worst because her healthcare plan is "Everyone who doesn't have healtcare gets fined". This is her plan in the middle of a recession.

I'm more likely to vote for Mccain just do to the fact that it seems Obama gives no insurances we'd go back into iraq should a genocide start or they get invaded.

Most of the country (though not me.) seemed to be for the war. Or at least that's how most of the congress voted for said people.

Iraq short term is more fucked up then it was when Sadam was their. Long term it will most likely stay more fucked up if we leave. Considering we invaded them without any urging from their citizens i'd say it's our responsibility to stay they and try and fix shit.

Polls show the same thing. They hate that we're there but they'd hate it even more if we left.

In the end though it's the difference between 2 years and 5. As Mccain said that within 5 years the troops in iraq would mostly be sent home and that those that stayed there would not be part of the fight to keep iraq stable... and just be used to guard Iraqi interests.

Though I trust him more to stop a genocide.

Zen, I actually don't know ANY of McCain's policies. I just go to YubeTube and type in "mccain flip flop" and watch a whole mess of videos and laugh my ass off. He's desperate and changing all his policies like crazy. He does it ever 4 years. It's become a hobby of mine to watch.

You'd actually be wrong on that.  He does have a fairly split voting record however because he unlike most politicians actually will compromise to make solutions work.

So what if McCain is trying to cater to the right wing now anyways? Thats the side that is most skeptical of him. Until he finally announces his running mate (which I should think will be a very right wing individual to appease the Republicans) he will be going for their votes.

Every politician flip flops anyway, look at Hillary on Iraq. BTW the Obama Bandwagon is getting really annoying. For a man who has almost no experience, track record, or evidence behind the usual Politician's motto of change and hope, he gets a lot of undeserved support.

I mean, to the all the people who say he's the only one who didnt vote for Iraq, HE DIDNT VOTE AGAINST IT EITHER. I mean cmon, if thats the only reason to support him that he did not support a popular decision at the time, he is going to be a terrible president.

Welcome to VGChartz! Too bad all of the stuff here pertaining to video games and charts can't light your fire. I guess nothing makes you feel more validated as a human being than branding people as ingorant bigots. Have fun living that kind of life.

Everything I said is true, as unfortunate as that is.  There's bigots everywhere, not just in the US of A.  But It's funny to see the violent reaction people have to the truth.  I mean if not voting for a guy because you "think" he's a Muslim isn't bigoted then what is?

Anyhow, I'm just pissy because I bought the PS3 at full price on Dec 26 2006 .

I cannot vote off course, but if I could, it would be Obama. McCain second.

To me as an outsider it is easy. I think and feel that what America needs is concession - it has to become one unified country again and also of importance, regain it's status as an economic power.

I'm afraid that McCain will follow up more easily on the Iraq war and perhaps even expand it. Plus, I'm afraid he will end up as Bush, dividing the nation over his policies.
This will also happen to Obama off course. He will likely make some policies that people will not agree on. But the primaries have shown one thing - he manages to get people behind him and that is what is important for America to upcomming years.

Clinton I feel has mostly been busy polarising people. End of story for her.

Cluster bombs can easily be traded in for a more precise bombardment. Several forms of LGB's (Laser-guided bombs) will defend 'our troops' better then cluster bombs that span an area often larger then the planned bombsite and remain a threat to those that are in that enlarged area or/and those that would like to investigate it.
