Crysis's music is distinctly generic to me. Like a John Williams wanna-be trying to sound intense. The Mafia music sounds downright bad. Like it's just a random mix of notes without any actual melody. I agree Deus Ex has great music.

Morrowind's and Oblivion's music sounds like a bad movie rip. There are very few original tunes in them (the melody sounds like it's ripped right out of Pirates of the Carribean). It's not that the music itself is bad, but it just sounds really generic and ripped-off.

Wow. Here comes some toughts from a person that never really was into gaming music, never understand the greatness it can inspire. Well that times is past.

Im really enjoying Terras Theme (FFVI), To Zanarkand (FFX), Halo Theme and the most from Metal Gear Solid. Its really great, but, for me, nothing comes even close to this..

How about Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack?

The Gusty Gardens song is pretty epic (video embeded... minute 1.38 is amazing)... also the Observatory theme, the Star Festival song, the Good Egg Galaxy song, etc...
