Forums - Nintendo - Super Mario Galaxy or Mario Kart Wii?

I just had an infuriating online match on N64 Mario's Raceway, I ended up #10 and lost almost 200 points, that's why I say screw Mario Kart, get Mario Galaxy. Grrrrrr...

Get both, they're great; if you can afford only one game, get Mario Galaxy first. It's not to be missed.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

Okay, on sunday i'm going to buy a Wii game, it's out of those two, suggestions?

You *just* missed the circuit city sale which ended Sunday. It was "buy 1 and get one 50% off" and among the list of games it worked with were SSB:B, Mario Kart: Wii, and Galaxy.

if you are worried about your VR, you're going to have a lot less fun.  Just play and enjoy the game, and you won't feel like you always have to get in the top 2 spots.

I live in Australia TheBigFatJ... yay for overpriced games!

I'd say MK Wii! Simply based on previous installments, the Mario platformers are fantastic but MK series is long lasting and simple fun for people most ages and probably the best multiplayer racer ever made.

I wasn't being serious. The VR doesn't REALLY matter to me... but to me, part of the fun is getting better and better.

My weakpoint (that regularly gets attacked for massive damage) are the items. I think my driving is pretty good, but others are much smarter when it comes to item usage. I suck at "dangling" items... i can't drive properly while doing it.

Is this even a question?

Galaxy. It's an innovative, perfectly designed, game. Awesome graphics, amazing music, perfect controls, fresh and clever level design.

Mario Kart Wii is just same old Mario Kart.

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Either way you totally win.

If you have 4 remotes, go with Kart. The online is 12 players and really awesome, but if you're not online, 4 player local multiplayer is still loads of fun.

Galaxy is quite possibly the best single-player gaming experience of this generation. It's also got a great "girlfriend mode" where somebody helps you by stunning enemies, collecting star bits, and shooting them for you while you focus on all the manly flips and jumps.

Tough choice but if your Wii is hooked to the net then get MKWii first.

Though choice. You should try to get both but if you really have to pick only one just flip a coin and let the fortune decide because you can't go wrong with any of them.

Get Galaxy first then.

Nintendo still doomed?
