In getting ready for MGS4 I was able to pick up a brand new 40 GB unit yesterday. I also picked up Resistance.

This was my first PS3 gaming experience outside my friends place and my thoughts thus far are generally positive.

The hardware seems impressive, it runs very quietly and doesn't heat up at all.

Whats up with the whole "download" time and then "install" time? Mortal kombat 2 took 5 minutes to download as its almost 300 megs for some reason...and then another 4 mins to install. In comparison, UMK3 on the 360 is 40 megs which downloads and is ready to go in pretty much 1 minute. Haze demo took months to be ready...

Menus as well are quite confusing. Took me 10 minutes to find the demo for haze as it wasn't listed under demos.  When you start a download you have an option to navigate the network and put the downloads in the background... Then on top of the screen there is "view downloads" button. When you go there it will show you your downloads...seems easy thus far. However when you click on your download to see the progress, it will start downloading it AGAIN! There is another menu on the main screen where you check for progress apparently.

In any case, I look forward to playing the awesome ps3 exclusives but I can finally understand why people say that Sony is a hardware company...

The should hire Microsoft or Apple for PS4 to do them a decent OS. :)

Resistance is great. Gmaeplay feels a bit dated to me but thats because I've overkilled on COD4 and Halo 3 which came out after. When it came out in 2006 it was prolly the best FPS to play on a console.

Wii had to be moved to make room for the PS3. Its a fun system...but I hate seeing products get reckognition (in Wii's case sales) and not really being superior to other products on the market. So I may voice it from time to time...but Wii still has a place in anyones gaming library providing you can afford a ps3 and a 360 as well :)

Congrats on your new PS3. Now do the following.

Buy a new Hard Drive and upgrade that 40 GB. I have a 120 GB Hard Drive in mine and the install is easy. You'll need the extra space since almost every game installs a portion of the game on the HDD.

man you owe it to yourself to play uncharted,, it's graphics, animation and water are to be seen to be believed, best graphics on Next Gen hands down!

Don't ask about the PSN xD I like the re-vamp, but it's still a bit confusing sometimes -_-; I rarely ever click on the downloads cart, I just look at the icons and see if it has that red stamp on it, meaning of course that I've previously downloaded it :D

Get Warhawk!!! You WILL thank me in the morning XD I'm definitely NOT an online gamer, and I'm obsessed with it :D It's just that damn good XD

If you've never played the series or if your a fan, check out Ratchet and Clank Futures :D If you have an HD TV it will thank you ;) Same goes to Uncharted!
