Yea, that's why Nintendo pushed back SSBB. They didn't have much faith in the game. (that's sarcasm, just so you know) They pushed it back because KZ2 has great potential. It is very unique in it's game play (a level can last an hour), and due to the work going into the visuals, of all the PS3 exclusives, it probably would get the most benefit from the delay. And with the game you said would never come to the PS3 hitting this holiday season, it's a wise move ;) |
First up, do you really believe, other than going on the word of the developer in the interview (the same that said KZ1 would be awesome) that this game will have a "level" that takes an hour to complete. That's nonsense, perhaps a string of levels under the banner of a "chapter", but forcing the player to sit there for at least an hour is insane and will not be taken well by gamers (they may play for hours, but they want the option to opt out whenever).
Also, what part of this game is unique:
Cover system: Yep they combined what Gears perfected and what CoD's been doing for years (leaning behind walls/cover) by doing a cover system that locks you onto a piece of cover while still being in First person. HIGHLY original.
Grey post-apocalyptic world: Not even going to touch that one.
First person: Being able to fire from the hip AND down the scope. WOAH that's never been done before!
Generic Sci-fi story: Holy crap two warring factions! and you get to play as JUST ONE PERSON in this game!?! oh wait, Masterchief was one person? (and even then Halo's story was taken from multiple places)
Enemies: I've only seen two types thus far, bland generic grunt soldiers and big daddy imitations with machine guns (and alot less cooler). If there are actually any more, it only goes to show how bland and predictable these soldiers are.
Please people, graphics doesn't equal good game, so stop looking at the video's of KZ2 and labelling this as a AAA title. If you were actually paying attention to the video's, you'd notice that the enemy AI is so stupid that they don't even react to being shot at, also highly original in games.
KZ2 was delayed because:
1) Needed more time to develop to fix up things critcised in previews
2) They don't want to compete against Gears 2 and Resistance 2.
