| CAL4M1TY said: First up, do you really believe, other than going on the word of the developer in the interview (the same that said KZ1 would be awesome) that this game will have a "level" that takes an hour to complete. That's nonsense, perhaps a string of levels under the banner of a "chapter", but forcing the player to sit there for at least an hour is insane and will not be taken well by gamers (they may play for hours, but they want the option to opt out whenever). |
Well until I play a game, all I ever have to go on is what other people say. Most of them who has sat in front of KZ2 and played it, have left with a positive experience.
As for the AI, yea, it sucks. They are in the process of outsourcing a developer to work in the AI (probably a contributing reason why it's delayed).
As for a unique game, let's not kid ourselves. When FPS's are what we are talking about, eye-candy is what's important. Your fooling yourself if you think visuals are secondary in this genre.
Graphics is what has driven FPS's from day one. There has been very little new in the genre for 15 years. The first UT is basically the same experience as Halo 3. You run around and shoot people. It's hard to advance a basic concept. Bioshock has been praised as one of the best ever at it, and at its core, it's no different then doom. It just looks a hell of a lot better.
KZ tries with very long levels (that I assume you can save at any point), stunning visuals, a ton of environment effects going on in the background, no hud, mission objectives through NPC interaction, and incorporating every "fun" element from other FPS's.
Weather it makes it good or not, that combination is unique.
