Forums - Sony - After Bioshock announcement for PS3....

I m arguing about the quality of KZ2 ,,,I m just saying PS3 is getting too many shooters this fall:

R2
Soccom
Bioshock
COD5
there are rumors of a game from crytek to be revealed at E3

how many shooters do we need in 3 months of fall?

if KZ2 was there it would have been too many FPS and not many after 08(like 360 this year,,,,they got lots in 07 and not much this year)

But thats just it.  Throwing a title to February when so many games in the same genre came out in November and December is a bit like making it the sacrificial lamb of the group.

They can't have that much faith in the game.

But it's the only game they really have control over.  It's not like they can tell everyone else to delay their games.  And I don't think Take2 is too worried about sales with Bioshock.

And to the people mentioning Haze.  It was delayed far longer than just two months.  Kilzzone 2 is releasing directly after the holiday season.  Haze was delayed at the last minute to a whole six months later.  And FR wasn't scared of competition, as David Doak even called it "the ps3's answer to Haze."

Well that's their own FPS ,,,so that's the only one they can delay,,,they cannot tell 2k to delay bioshock ,,same with R2,,,,same with COD5

We won't  know if it's gonna turn out good or bad ,hence arguing about quality of KZ2 is a moot point right now.

More money has been put into KZ2 than any other PS3 title. I believe the budget for KZ2 is around $80 million US and counting. They have to make sure the time is right to launch KZ2 and give it some extra polish to the game and bug test it.

PS3 didn't need Bioshock for the holiday. They don't need more shooter right now (especially not when even Sony acknowledge by moving K2). What they need for Christmas is something that was big during the PS2 days and that Xbox has no equivalent: FFXIII. This game would be perfect for the holiday alongside R2, LittleBigPlanet all the other multiplat games.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

That's all I'd really need, but I'll probably buy the other ones you mentioned too.

Yea, that's why Nintendo pushed back SSBB. They didn't have much faith in the game. (that's sarcasm, just so you know)

They pushed it back because KZ2 has great potential. It is very unique in it's game play (a level can last an hour), and due to the work going into the visuals, of all the PS3 exclusives, it probably would get the most benefit from the delay.

And with the game you said would never come to the PS3 hitting this holiday season, it's a wise move ;)

 GTAIV cost 100 million.

Now, you can hype your multiplayer Resistance sequel all you want (what, it does have a single player part??? Really? All i keep hearing about is the 60 players online, and i see some old gen screens - Black Looked way better...). Bioshock Has arrived, and there will be another GRETA proof, that PS3 fans are not in position to honor such a GREAT release (Half Life anyone?) even if its out 16 months later.
I'm really sorry to say it, but, Bioshock PS3, has no luck...

Well, I am sure Bioshock 2 will use the same engine with some minor visual enhancements. It's my guess that they realized how little it would cost to release the first one on the PS3 when they realized the second was going to be multi-plat. Also, it gives PS3 only owners the ability to get caught up before the second one launches.

I don't think they expect it to sell as well as the 360 version.
