I predicted Wii would reach 50-55% marketshare by end of '08 last year (see my other predictions under my profile if you like). I still stand by that.

Hitting 50% is one thing - staying there is another.

I still think they will hit 50% before the holidays, go under 50% during the holidays - then probably rise back up post-Xmas.

And in how long? I've only seen the Wii go down in sales likE ONCE, in terms of percentage, and it was 0,1% lol.

I think it will happen once, and once only (also, it won't go below 50% again). I don't see it happening before the holidays (February 2009 was my prediction).

3 months to go until November. Current gap is 4.26m. That's 1.42m per month if it happens before November, or more than 300k gap per week. Not realistic at all, considering the Wii doesn't even sell much more than 300k, let alone outselling PS3+360 by that amount (outside holidays of course).

I think it is now very very clearly a question of "when" and not a question of "if". I can't for the life of me see anyway it won't reach 50%. PS360 fans can go on and on about when their console gets a price cut but they for some reason ignore the fact that we can get a price cut just as easily and Wii is much more capable of hitting the $200 mass market price. So I have dispelled with the "if". The "when" - I will say about March next year.

I disagree. Thing is the Wii wont peak, or at least never as hard as Sony and Microsoft will. Like the PS2 era, Microsoft and Sony will slow down but the Wii wont. Then, it can get 50%.
