@Rubang
So, should we expect this year´s E3 and TGS to mark the start of the flood of 3rd party titles for the Wii?

Unfortunately that was a completely different scenario. NA and EU both had huge titles to look forward to as well as having much better sales relative to what was expected.
Japan may well recover for the PS3 but the NA and EU example was a very poor one.
| Console | Wii | PS3 | X360 |
America | 2,408,102 | 1,081,905 | 1,026,264 |
Japan | 968,695 | 237,891 | 38,476 |
UK | 796,675 | 382,523 | 337,114 |
It's interesting to see how much better hardware is selling in the UK compared to Japan recently( 4 months).
Both the PS3 and Wii have a greater LTD in Japan but the sales of the PS3 are clearly slowing compared to the UK. This could explain why we are not seeing so many JRPG's produced on the PS3 as the UK and Europe are showing themselves to be far larger markets then Japan and so they are creating more games that cater for the European audience.
At the present rate (this weeks) we could see more PS3 sold in the UK then Japan within a year.
Playing : PC AOE, DiRT 2, Runes of Magic, Wings of Prey & Planetside 2

Sometimes, I´d like to be a fly to sneak into Sony HQ and see how the top executives are reacting to news like this.

I don't see it that way at all. The DS sales worldwide are market leading, so why waste a change now when it is only somewhat apparently necessary in one region (where sales are already massive). I think Nintendo will wait till sales slow worldwide (or at least until when they think sales *will* slow worldwide).

japanese developers will still develop for the ps3 due to it's sales in other regions.
Look at the 360, it's doing abysmally in japan but developers like Team Ninja want to make there next game 360 exclusive, because of America.
