Forums - Gaming - Do you finish a game before moving on to the next one?

I favour variety. Sometimes I want mindless action, sometimes I want puzzles, sometimes I want excitement, sometimes I want to just chill out. So I tend to jump from one game to another a bit.

There are some games that I simply can't put away until I'm done, though. Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 3 come to mind. The only reason I put away Metroid Prime 2 is because Metroid Prime 3 came out and I couldn't wait.

I just finished Max Payne today... I started it 6 years ago.

Damn, bro.

Where was you when that game launched...lol..as a matter of fact what have you been doing to now come to beating Max Payne?

Hahaha I started playing it 6/7 years ago and got to the part where your having a nightmare with the baby crying (first one) and then I stopped playing it and lost the Ps2... I found it at gamestop used for 3 dollars and just picked it up... about a month ago.

Games I own and havent beat yet: Crash 2, FF8, Bully, Dark Cloud, FF12, GTA:VC (have not beat the main story yet), Manhunt, Jak and daxter, Onimusha 1 & 2, Valkyrie Profile 2, Assassins Creed, COD4, wild arms,

For me it's always one at a time.
And now i own over 50(!) games that i have not played yet.

Hell no. I'm usually playing 4-5 games at any given moment.

Right now it's:

- GTA IV (360)
- Okami (Wii
- Zack & Wiki (Wii)
- SMG (Wii)
- Haze (PS3, starting Friday)

And I'm always playing Rock Band. That never stops.

Wow! My very last post mentioned that I do this A game has to have something special mixed in to keep me involved, even if I am absolutely in love with it when I play it. For some reason, even though I try to play all the popular games, I sometimes can't bring myself to finish them. Here's a short, embarrassing list of required gaming that I've yet to complete by myself (though I've started them many times): -Zelda (Original, OoT, and Wind Waker) -Goldeneye -Final Fantasy 7 -Any metroid game aaaaaand we'll stop short of revealing the original Super Mario Bros... On the other hand, I've been getting better lately... I've beaten EBA, all Ace Attorneys but AJ (which I'm working on now), Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, and CoM, Kotor, all the Halos, Gears, Uncharted, NSMB.... then I threw myself a curve ball, buying GTAIV, Professor Layton, and the MGS Essentials collection in the same week.... I'm strange...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I often find myself losing interest in a game on the last area/boss. It's like "I've already done 99% of the game...and I know what the ending will be like, so why bother?" I prefer games with a strong story that keep you guessing until the very end, that way I'll have to beat it to find out what happens. Unfortunately, too many games end with "yay the world is happy again." And you know it's coming, with no surprises, no mysteries, just a boss...then happyland.

I usually play a few at once, unless I get absolutely sucked into one. I just played Mario Galaxy for a few days straight and got my 120th star last night. Booyahs.

When I was young YES.;...But now..Uhm no... I have so many games and I am even skipping some games after a hour (like blinx HORRIBLE GAME). I am playing at the moment:

GTA San Andreas
Lego Star Wars
Crimson Skies
Medal of Honour Pacific Assault
Dead Or Alive 2
Pff..So many games X_X;

I'm a downright chronic non-finisher. I still haven't finished Zack&Wiki, Galaxy, God Hand, or even Super Paper Mario. On the other hand, I've put outrageous amounts of time into Team Fortress 2 and Europa Universalis 3 recently.

Maybe this means linear games with a clear beginning and end aren't my thing? ^^

I like to play my games one at a time. If I stop playing one game for a while, and eventually buy a new game then I will probably play my newest game, and eventually come back to the old one.
