Forums - Gaming - HAZE review (IGN).....4.5

Yeah I can understand 4s or 5s for some of it, and I do think reviewers need to get off the stupid 7-10 scale of reviews, but you can't just jump into it...some of the criteria probably should have been at least 6.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Precisely what I expected, I never had any faith in this game tbh. They should stick with Timesplitters, that's a brilliant franchise! :-

I wonder what implications this has for Timesplitters. 360 exclusive if they're willing to pay? Wii game? PC/360 game?

Probably want to avoid the PS3.

What?

That's going to be their next big game... They had a lot of issues on the PS3. So it would seem inadvisable to focus any developement on the PS3 since two bombs in a row could hurt their reputation.

I would not say I am terribly shocked by the score accorded to the title. I also would like to say the negative comments are merely a mark of a massive karma reversal. When system loyalists started hyping this title, and started to wield it like a mighty broad sword the backlash was inevitable. Obviously most of those who used this game as a propaganda piece, are going to adamantly deny that they did so. However I can see the appeal of rubbing faces in it as payback.

Basically this title was heaped with accolades, proclaimed AAA, and used to bulk any and all possible exclusive lists. We all say the lists with Haze prominently mentioned as a AAA exclusive title. With a few of the scores coming in the title has no hope of AAA status, and may be lucky to get average marks if bribery is used as a standard business tactic.

Posters aren't attacking the company or the game really. They are attacking their fellow arrogant posters who rubbed their nose in the game for the last six months, and I cannot see calling fowl on them now. This is the price of hubris, and you should take every lump it will be good for you. Trying to guilt someone, because deep down you are ashamed it a pretty vulgar tactic. You talk smack, and eventually you will get a smack down.

Anyway I saw the video a few weeks ago I game my opinion then. Looks like I was pretty close to the mark.

No. No, it wasn't, except that yeah it was obviously included on exclusive lists.

So the rest of your post has no legs to stand on, and your defense of whatever else is going on, fails.

Most of what I remember were predicitions of low-moderate initial sales and then good legs *if* it turned out to be decent and got decent reviews. Yeah, go on, rub noses...how pathetic the predictions were.

*rolls eyes*

What a shock an adamant denial. No Sony fan claimed this game was huge. No fan claimed it as a major exclusive. Speak for yourself, and not for others. The reason for the flaming is not, because the title was exclusive for the PS3. Both the other consoles have had lackluster exclusive titles that received equally poor ratings. Why were these titles not attacked. They were not attacked, because there wasn't a legion of fans raising them onto a pedestal. There were a few posters hopeful of this title or that, but never proclaimed these games even a fraction of what Sony fanboys were doing with Haze. Are we to the point where we need to thoroughly document what everyone said so as to bat down these ignorant arguments. Everyone knows it is true a great many Sony fanboys replayed the lair mistake again. Perhaps the only smart thing they did was pull back on the claims the closer the game came to launch.

Dont really think that it is PS3 fault that they made such lousy game. Another thing is that they know more about the PS3 hardware now so probably PS3/360 game.

It was being made by Free Radical, that alone was good assurance.

Then you saw previews, and finally the demo hit.

I don't know.  If I'm a baker and I'm using a new oven and my recipe comes up like crap... I'm not going to use that oven for my biggest client of the year.

Lets say it's developer limitation.  Why would they want to work on a console they suck at... when trying to sell their most important. (really only important) franchise.

You've got to protect that baby because it's your mealticket.  A bad timesplitters game could put the studio in serious trouble.

Ugh... Okay, we can all forget Haze selling over a million now. It belongs to the history bin of fail and will be forgotten in a week.

Good, that leaves space for other news. Bye bye Haze.

Kane and Lynch did pretty good numbers.

The story from what I can tell is the only decent thing about Kane and Lynch so I am not getting why anyone bought that game.  I'll feel sorry for anyone that decides to play Haze also

i was telling you guys this game was going to fail miserably since march.

Hmm, shitty. Did they say if the multiplayer was fun?

Haze will sell more than Blue Dragon still.

So, your going to compare a FPS on the PS3 to a JRPG on the 360??

A JRPG sells the best in japan where the 360 has an install base of 600,000

An FPS generally sells best in North America where PS3 has an install base of around 5 million.

Your comparison is laughable at best, and it's funny how you put it up against BD and not LO because it might not outsell LO.

08' Year End Predictions

Wii: 46 Million
Xbox 360:
26 Million

PS3: 22 Million

Sale Predictions:

Gears Of War 2 - 7 Million
Fable 2 - 3 Million
Left 4 Dead - 1.5 Million
Infinite Undiscovery - 700k
Tales Of Vesperia - 550k
The Last Remnant - 700k
Ninja Gaiden - 800k LTD [?] On its way.
Banjo-Kazooie N&B - 2 Million
Lost Odyssey - 500k LTD [X] surpassed
Too Human - 1.4 Million

i tried the demo i didnt see anything wrong with it

ign probably just dont like the game

ign gave the club 6.9, i dont know how they got a 4.9 on haze, it runs brilliantly plus has 4 player co-op. but if thats thier opinion they can keep it.
