Forums - Nintendo - FF IV getting FF III treatment for DS

This might be old news but I just read it today in GI and nearly wet myself. While I generally hate the whoring of the FF franchise by Square, this game was bloody brilliant and I haven't played it in well over a decade.

I guess it's getting a July release so it's not even that far away. Wheeee!!!!

yeah i heard it before but still cant wait. i recently replayed it on gba and it is still a great game.

Yeah I have the Japanese version. Plan on getting the English one too.

=p Oh well, I guessed the most of us already know that (and it was in the Official 2008 DS games thread).

Will they do the same with FFV and FFVI? Because when they announced FFIV for DS I thought they will do it also for FFV and FFVI and then probably for FFVII etc..

Agreed RE: FF IV's brilliance.  I like the re-releases on subsequent consoles, though.  I bought 2 of the FF compilations on PS1....FF Origins and...what's the one with a FF and Chrono Trigger?

what is the draw of FF? i tried FF III on the DS, and a gamecube FFCC game on the Wii, and both (edit) times i got bored after no more than 20 minutes.

i actually really dislike the characters. they seem so bland... why is FF such a big deal?

i can see why mario is a big deal... because it's meant to be fun (and even then i don't own SMG). but what is it about FF???

the Wii is an epidemic.

I hope you didn't play it for 20 minutes then just stopped. Rpgs always start out slow and boring. FFIII didn't have to much of a story though so I guess that is why you think of the characters as bland. Play IV VI or VII and you wouldn't think as much. .

I'm pretty sure they're doing this on III-VI. I eagerly await VI. I love that game so much.

You are thinking of "Final Fantay Chronicles".
