I expect millions of people to buy Wii for Wii Sports and Wii Fit alone every year until a succesor to the console or one of the titles is released.  The "casual"/non-gamer market is HUGE and with Wii selling faster than any video game device in the past there is obviously interest.

Your "support" arguement has no bearing on Wii/PS3 sales, though the fact that PS2 is still being supported does  help[ Sony in this meaningless, yet interesting "race" between the two companies.

I am not going to say anymore on this as I am a fan of both Sony and nintendo, But I will say this. With all the things I see you guys posting around here lately i hope like hell things go the way you all THINK they are going to go. Because if they don't the SONY and #^) fanboys are going to have a field day with you down the road. Even I will have to chime in with an i told you so. As I keep saying guys it's just too early to predict. You guys are pouring Gatoraid on the coach and it's only the 1st quarter, and the other team still has almost all it's guns left to fire.  These AAA games matter to the "hardcore" gamers that buy many games each year.  The hardcore market is the miniority though.  And unless the hardcore market grows than hardcore games will become fewer and further between as the rising development costs can't survive when being sold to a stagnant crowd.

I do want to say this as i find this quite funny, yet interesting. when the PS3 and Wii launched. the PS2 had sold 120 million units, the GC about 25 mil and the XBOX 23 mil. That's roughly 170 million units ofr last gen. Yet I see people predicting 150 mil for the Wii, 80 Mil for the PS3 and 40-50 mil for the 360. thats like almost doubling last gen in growth. Folks if this gen sells 200-210 mil consoles, it would be considered an extremely healthy growth. I am just pointing this out to show where I think peoples thinking in regards to this ganeration in sales is a tad bit skewed.

well from my perspective the video gaming market has to be growing. The Last wedding I went to ( I have a fairly huge family) many of my cousins and aunts and uncles talked about getting Wiis for the children or grandchildren. I think the total consoles sales just to my family stands at 14 Wiis, 2 Xbox 360s, and 3 PS3s. a big majority of the Wiis were going to people who had never owned a videogame console before or had never considered getting a video game console before.  So from at least my perspective the Wii is generating sales to a lot of newcomers that will hopefully stay with video game console for a long time.
