That's roughly 170 million units ofr last gen. Yet I see people predicting 150 mil for the Wii, 80 Mil for the PS3 and 40-50 mil for the 360. thats like almost doubling last gen in growth. Folks if this gen sells 200-210 mil consoles, it would be considered an extremely healthy growth. I am just pointing this out to show where I think peoples thinking in regards to this ganeration in sales is a tad bit skewed. |
well from my perspective the video gaming market has to be growing. The Last wedding I went to ( I have a fairly huge family) many of my cousins and aunts and uncles talked about getting Wiis for the children or grandchildren. I think the total consoles sales just to my family stands at 14 Wiis, 2 Xbox 360s, and 3 PS3s. a big majority of the Wiis were going to people who had never owned a videogame console before or had never considered getting a video game console before. So from at least my perspective the Wii is generating sales to a lot of newcomers that will hopefully stay with video game console for a long time.
