I've had the PS3 since launch, I've had the Wii since Launch.
And vowed never ever to touch/buy a an Xbox360....

BUT

Together with a new job and a 2nd hand X360 offer last week I could simply not refuse and I am soon to be an owner (not saying proud yet) of this beast!

The only downside to this is...I have never looked at what games are available for the 360.
So to ensure I get THE best impression and convert from a Sony fan....what games would you say are a must?

I've already jotted down Halo as something to give a go, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey....but what else? These are 'the big hitters' which I'm sure 99% of people have heard of, are there any gems I just wouldn't think of.

(I play nearly every Genre of game available so hit me with any suggestions too!)

Then, in a few weeks once I've given it the appropiate test spin. I'll give you my first impressions.

Gears of War, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, The Darkness, Dead Rising, Condemned 2, and Eternal Sonata.

To start, get Bioshock, Gears, and Mass Effect, in that order.


Also, on the first day, plug a jump drive in and boot up some music to listen to while your games are loading. That'll make you a firm believer in the opinion that the 360 could have been the best console ever if it wasn't made like the first gen playstation 2s.

I'm thinking of getting one soon, as a PS3 owner, and the games I intend to get are:
Ace Combat 6, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Gears of War (Forza 2 and Viva Pinata bundled)

A great game that was on PS3(I think) but that I ever knew about till I owned a 360 was F.E.A.R.

That's a really cool shooter and it's under-rated as hell. Better than halo 3. If you didn't pick up F.E.A.R. for PS3, then skip halo and get it for 360, where you can also have custom soundtracks, lol(I like that part of the 360 a lot case you couldn't tell).

PS: I just beat Mass Effect a few minutes ago, great game, but the technical problems suck. It froze on me twice during loading and those popins don't play. Still, the story towards the end is fantastic and I have to say, it's better than any other Bioware console game except KOTOR which still owns it, unfortunately. 8.5/10 or possibly 9/10. Woulda been a 9.5/10 same as GTAIV if it woulda ran smoother as a babies butt and if they would have actually finished the game(which apparently they didn't judging from playing the beta that they released).

Never heard of these if I'm being honest, well the names ring a bell but not got a clue what there about so will have a little dig.

And I've heard of F.E.A.R, I'll contemplate giving that a go!

Eternal Sonata is a JRPG like Lost Odyssey or Final Fantasy VII.

Condemned is a survival horror fps. Cool game.

The Darkness is a shooter, from the Riddick game on the original Xbox. FPS shooter.

Dead Rising is a zombie game from capcom with a great story(shockingly) and some pretty cool gameplay. Action/survival/3rd person shooter

Crackdown, Geometry Wars, Kameo, PGR3+4(3 is about £5 now).
